my guess, you have the maf sensor on back to front. make sure your maf loom is facing the front of the car. if it isnt, its on the wrong way.

Anyway, put it on, reconnected all 3 vaccum lines, (2 to the pipe, 1 to the diverter valve) connected mass air and air filter etc.. started the car, ran fine for like ... literally 1-2 seconds, then it started to make sounds like misfiring, the idle would raise and go to like 1500 or 2000, then drop down to like 500 and feel like it was going to stall out, then run really rough at those rpms, go a little higher, then suddenly just drop to real real low rpms then just shut off...
not sure what the hell is goin on, everything is connected, is there anyway to trouble shoot it? i really dont feel like putting back on the stock intake ... it was a pain in the ***, not to mention the pictures of the intake in the installing book make it look so much easier then it actually was to put it. the thing barely fits in there.

dEdiYT11 - "Not going to read all the posts but post a picture or the MAF, it can be installed backwards and that will give you the bogging. seen it happen before."
xcuzme - "my guess, you have the maf sensor on back to front. make sure your maf loom is facing the front of the car. if it isnt, its on the wrong way."
sl0ev0 - "your maf is probably on backwards. i did the same thing and the car was doin the same thing"
Hmmm....
Problem fixed.
There was no problem with the installation, the only problem was the intake itself.
Put everything back to stock and it worked fine, exactly like before i put the intake on.
Warralton - I was going to put it back to stock if it kept giving me problems, but i was trying to trouble shoot before i did that.
So aparently, the HKS RS Intake = SUCKS *****.

The HKS RS intake pipe is a bit long to be doing what you're doing with the intake pipe only. If you notice intake pipes such as the Cusco, Helix, Garage HRS and a few other JDM ones are about .75" shorter, which allows you to install the pipe only, without the filter / adapter plate portion. Given this squeeze, it's possible that the lip of the pipe is protruding both into the compressor intake stream or it's tweaking the MAF in a way where it's really unhappy (for example causing turbulence). My recommendation would be to either cut down the HKS one, or pickup a Helix intake. That said ANY of the above intakes including the Helix one are a squeeze when you run only the pipe and not the whole intake kit.
