RSX TYPE S VS. EVO VII
Im so tired of reading these posts. How can you even say honda is better than mitsubishi? My brother has had numerous cars made by mitsubishi and NONE of them have been UNRELIABLE. His 1st and 2nd generation DSMS NEVER HAD crank walk(a common stereo type associated with these cars). On the other hand, my mom has a honda and yes honda does make quality products, as does Mitsu. You're not comparing apples to oranges, you're comparing peaches to peaches. They are both equally made cars IMHO. Every car has its lemon and not every car is gonna perform to expectations. if you beat the hell out of a car, sure its gonna suffer and you most likely deserved it. If you take care of the car, dont race it and/or redline it at every chance, then you will be safe. I own a 95 gpse and as another stereo type of my car being domestic and ****tily(nice adverb) built, it has been nothing but reliable. My major change was an alternator, so stop with the Bull ****. Just becuase honda has fewer recalls or whatnot, doesn't make mitsu inferior to honda. If you look around, times have changed(except for ford) almost all car makers can compete with one another as far as build quality goes.
and i thought we were going to stop talking about lemons
(i could have said much more but some buttheads .....)
here have a drink and don't think of it too much
mitsus rule! oh i said it... happy now? (crossed my fingers)

having to agree with some ppl......partial life of a car depends how often it's beat on and also what kinds of diff. mods have been done....if you have some average driver on a mitsu or honda it could last them their lifetime...but if you got ppl this generation doing mods and beating the hell outta there car it's life is gonna dimish some...as for honda....damn plastic cars....got into a 4 car collision w/ two hondas, damn hondas had no damage what so ever...WTF man!......but i'm not putting DOWN and honda's acura's or mitsu....but i know when i GET my EVO VII imma beat the hell outta those suped up civics and wanna be import mustangs...
i'll tap that ***...
oh sorry wrong forums...errr
my mind just got side tracked!
um, so i hear some very very wise sayings (sarcasm) like "depending how you treat your car depends on how long the car will last no matter the maker".......duuuuhhhhhhhhhhh
isn't that like common sense?

Why are you comparing a Mitsubish with a Honduh. The Lan-Evo is better than most of the honduhs out there. The engine of the lan-evo is an iron block and much stronger than the honduh's aluminum block engine. The new RSX runs only 220hp in Japan VS. a 280hp Lan-Evo and there is no battle between the two cars. Plus the Lan-Evo is in a class A car and the (RSX) is in a class B or C. There is absolutely no competition between the two cars.
since when hve iron blocks been better than aluminum blocks...ive always thought aluminum were stronger, mroe heat resistant, and weigh less than iron...not to mention more expensive which is why the lancer has an iron block...cuz its cheaper...nto cuz its stronger...
and i dont think mitsubishi is quite at hondas level...theres a reason why honda accord has been like the best selling sedan for liek that past 8 years...well i jus made up that number but its been number 1 a lot...and hondas are always on the top of the list on consumer reports etc including the most stolen car list =P

Well EvoSouL since you've been yapping your big mouth about the quality of Mitsu cars in a Mitsu forum. Well, I understand that Mitsus have problems. And Hondas/Acuras are also not immune to problems. What most people tend to do is overlook these issues because of the over-rated hype. From what I have heard, a lot of 96 Integra owners have been complaining about improper machining of the short block. Also not long ago, although a recall was not issued, many 3rd gen Integras have had reports of failing A-pipes and muffler heat shields. Some early 90's Integras have had problems with distributor caps failing. Other failures in Integras include broken sway-bar ball joint bushings, cam end plug leak. I got most of this from my friend who is a Acura/Honda service manager. While talking to him, Civics aren't the best cars either, poor suspension, leaking door panels, poor seat quality, poor work on the dash, my friend says he hears countless complaints of rattles and jingles from the dash. Well I can go on and on, but I'm kinda tired and we need to kick back and watch the game now. Go check out NHTSA for a hell of a lot of complaints about Honduhs!
Mitsu forever, just bought my 5th Mitsu in my life.
1996 Eclipse GST, with a few breathing mods, smoked a few rustang 5.0s

the good thing about aluminum engine is there are light, not strong.
uhm when u blow ur engine 99 percent of the time its not the block that fails. an aluminum block could handle 33 pounds of boost and more...but the rest of the engine couldnt. ur honda buddys obviously dont know how to boost properly if they cant even handle 6 lbs.
All the debating can go elsewhere but i'm sure glad about one thing though, all or most of us would love to get our hands on the Evo ...let's put all that "this is better than that" and "my car is better than yours" in the kids section
