will mr guages easily work in IX model?
I bought a clean used set of MR gauges for the factory look, and planned to relocate them per the suggestions above.
The good news was that they looked decent and the wiring harness was plug and play.
The bad news emerged when I learned that the oil temperature sender is a proprietary Mitsubishi part, and try as I might I could not find one for sale, new or used. Apparently Mitsubishi does not sell it separately.
The result was that I was never able to install the gauges for lack of the sending unit, and aftermarket senders were not compatible: the voltage was different.
Finally, I gave up and sold the set at a small loss.
So now I think I'll just get a boost gauge. Eventually.
It was a pisser.

I believe you. I think the deal is, Mitsubishi sells the gauges and sender unit as a package and will not sell the sender unit as a separate part. The reason is (and I found this searching on this forum, way back), the sender and gauge are calibrated together. So if you try to match a sender with a different OEM gauge they may not read correctly. (YMMV.)
So ... I was screwed because the gauges I bought used did not include a sender. And even if I had found an OEM sender elsewhere, which I failed to do, it might not have worked properly with my gauge.

i have the stock guages....i didn't relocate them though...it just seems that changing a cd while driving would be difficult with the gear shift in the way and all...anyways i don't really look at the boost guage anymore...i can hear it when the turbo starts to spool....
^ you would be surprised at how convenient it is for the cd player to be down there. The cd changing process is even easier in the lower spot. I have a Pioneer 980BT with a motorized face that doesn't even get caught on the shifter. There's plenty of space.
if i wanted to take mine out and sell them what should i take out of my car and give to whoever buys them. they will be giving me there din and whatever else i would need.
