bigger intercooler require crashbar removal???

bigger intercooler require crashbar removal???

i currently have the TURBOXS intercooler and my car is currently at a shop... they said that i might have to remove to crashbar to fit the intercooler...i didn't know it was required or never heard anything about removing the bar to install most aftermarket intercooler... anyone help me out...chime in a bit..

It depends on the brand/intercooler. In other words some yes, some no.

turboxs said its complete bolt on... never mention any crashbar removal... anyone with turboxs can fill me in?

The intercooler would have to be huge to require permanent removal of the crash bar. The AMS intercooler is 3.625" thick and fits fine, so unless the TurboXS intercooler is thicker than that it should fit as well.

my RNR was supposedly bolt in also. But I had to remove the crash bar to get it to fit. Anything 4" thick is going to be a tight squeeze, and it will depend upon the end tank design. You can tell the shop to try and hang it a bit lower, which should help with clearing the crash bar, but you may not be able to use your undertray after that. Pick your poison, no crash bar or no undertray.

turboxs DOES NOT require you to remove the crash bar...

AMS does not either, as well as Nisei...not sure about other brands...

For what its worth, my Perrin intercooler allowed me to keep the factory crash bar, if any one cares.

mine requireed the crashbar removed :P PWR 1320 smf intercooler :P more dangerous i know but the rush is worth it lol, good luck

i know this is kinda off the subject but did any of you guys see any rust under your front crash bar when you took it off?...i was just wondering since there is some under the rear crash bar that i had to take care of

The crash bar is there more for 5 mph impact than anything else it would seem.
