Found the source of a squeak, now what?

My EVO developed an annoying squeak from its steering wheel in the last few days. At first I thought it had to do with turning the wheel or the height the wheel was adjusted. However, I realized it was the rubber insert in the middle of the wheel (the one you press to blow the horn/where the airbag comes from) That ba$tard squeaks and skrawnks when I shift it up or down (it has a small amount of free play). Anyway, I tried some spray lubricant (Mobile 1 version of WD40) to no avail. I was thinking maybe grease as my next step, but it will be hard to apply w/out taking the wheel apart (anyone have service diagrams for that?). Anyone else have this squeak, or am I just lucky

I'd be careful about putting lubricant in there... there can be electronics in there sometimes that wouldn't like that too much...

If you can find a way to undo the clips and get the thing off just use some tape or what not to keep it from moving once it is back on. Double sided is often the case with many people..

Go back to your dealership and make the squeaking noise and let them fix it.
