HELP!!! Something went wrong while I was adjusting my HID height manually!!!

I manually adjusted each side to basically its highest point, and then when I went in the car and drove around a bit I felt that they were just TOO high.

So I went back out and tried to crank them back down a bit but no matter how much I turned the bolt, the beam would not lower.

now my headlights aim very high even on the lowest setting on the automatic height adjustment!!!!!!!!!!

What happened to my lights to make them not respond to manual adjustments anymore!??! Has this happened to anyone else?

I knew something was going to go wrong when I started tooling around with my car

You may have stripped one of the plastic adjustment gears. Might want to take off the front bumper and pull the headlight housings off. With them off you may be able get things back to normal.

try taking it to the dealer and explain that they stopped working but dont say you tried to do anything manually.

i have one of mine stripped.. so what i did was just use my finger to turn the plastic gear and adjust it.. it hurt my finger a little so i wore a glove. yes its gonna totally strip the plastic gear but its the simplest way to do it without taking off bumpers or taking it to dealer... just my .02

Beauty is pain!!! You made me remember a friend who had the same problem with his Evo. We used a long skinny flat head screwdriver to turn the gear instead of taking the bumper off.

What is the advantage in doing that over using the electric adjusters? Where you trying to aim higher than the stock settings?

Could've lowered his car so he wanted to raise them manually to get the full range of control with the electric adjusters.
