IX MR and IX SE Front Bumper w/ Lip the same?
IX MR and IX SE Front Bumper w/ Lip the same?
So, my car was hit while parked in a parking spot (I was not there) and the jerk or biatch did not leave a note. That aside, because the front bumper needs to be replaced I am interested in replacing the stock IX MR front lip with the IX SE front lip.
Does anyone know if this will work?
I mentioned it to the dealers collision center, which is where I am having the work done, and they said no problem. Then I mentioned that I wanted all of the damaged parts, since I am paying for them anyway, and I got a call a few hours later saying that the IX SE front Bumper won't replace it. I don't know if there is a connection but some of the parts they want to replace are not really damaged to the point that they would not function or look as they did before the incident, which makes me wonder......
I am stumped by this, because as a product designer who engineers products and reverse engineers them, I would design it so the clip on points are the same so as to eliminate the need to manufacture two different front bumpers for nearly identical cars where the only difference is the lower lip.
Anyone have any information or know someone who has some insight into this dilema?
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks

I ask this because there is a IX MR SE at this same dealership. And I inspected it one day to see if they were the same, zero lift kit, etc., It looks the same, bolts and clips in the same places, but I did not take the bumper off the car at the dealership to see if the underpinnings were the same, the next owner and the dealership might have a problem with that. I thinkI am going to call South Coast Mitsu and see if they can help me with this odd technical question.
Thanks Guys, I will try to get it ordered from the dealer tomorrow.
I think there is a price difference.. Anyone know what it is? And perhaps a part number?
I called an Illinois dealer today and asked them what the cost difference might be and they did not yet have it in thier system, or so he said. I will call south coast tomorrow and ask them if they can help.
Thanks for your responses guys.
