It could have been a Mustang, or something similar, and be worth half of what you paid. I didn't say exemplary, I said not too shabby.

Exactly. The resale value is very good if you have a car that is well cared for and not abused. The problem is if you paid retail or more for your car, then you're always hosed, but this is the case with most every car. What do you think all those Shelbys that people are buying for $60k will be worth in a year or so?

sadly, I bought this car telling myself the following:

It'll be 10 years or 100,000 miles before I mod this car, otherwise I'm just throwing my money out the door (because warranty is definitely included in car price).

I've got the TBE, but honestly wont go further than MBC / Flash if I'm confident at some point I can reflash to stock. I'm not confident that I know how to do this nor do I want to tamper with my ECU.

Oh well

Your math is wrong (It's closer to 30% on the low side and I've seen them go for more) and your statement is wrong. Have you ever sold a three year old car? I can guaranty you most anyone would be happy to have the resale value of the EVO, again assuming it isn't abused.

Edit: If you're young and selling a modded car, your screwed no matter what the car.

Why is that? Maybe not a true Evo enthusiest, but i think that makes you MORE of a CAR enthusiest, in general.

I love my Evo, don't get me wrong; BUT i want so many other cars out there, and i have to slap myself daily because i have 0% financing, 10 yr 100k warrenty, and lots more goals to attain with this car; but I always think about selling it for something else. I want an S15 Silvia, and an S60R SO bad; but i know even when i get those i will want something else; it's a vicious cycle.

I agree. I am a car enthusiast and would drive a different car every two years if I could.

I personally have spent a pretty good amount on my car in the two years that i've had it. I have friends with Supra's and many other cool cars. I work with Supercharged BMW's all day and have been blessed to drive and experience Bentley's and so many other 100k cars.
I do not regret spending on cent and dont see myself selling it even at a very atractive price.

After spending as much money on my cars as I have it makes me think ''You could have put that money into your house'' But I dont regret it at all! I love cars and I especially love high performance cars! I am extremely happy with my life right now and I wouldn't change a thing!
