For those who spent some serious amounts of cash on your EVO is it all worth it. If you knew that you would spend 40k plus on a car , would you gone with a different car?

I got the car knowing I would modify it. No regrets. Brings a smile to my face every time I sit in it.

I've thought about this so many times and see that re-sale value on these cars is **** and I question my purchase of this car but once I get in and drive it ..... it all makes itself worth while (until it comes time to sell ). To be honest I dont know if I will ever sell this car though and its well worth the money . You only live once and money was made to be spent

I don't know if it's that bad really. KBB says my 03 is still work 20.5k (good) to 21955 (excellent).

For a car purchased brand new for 29k, that's not too shabby.

I think its more than resale value.. No modified car will be worth the sum of its parts..

If you can wake up in the morning, look at the car, enjoy and drive it, and never regret the amount of money you have spent.. Then it was worth it!

I don't know how much I have invested in my car, but I know I'd never get that back. But I do not regret any of the time and money spent on it.. ever.. Not only that, the one thing that I've never thought about is selling it...

If you have to think about resale value, and potential sale, then its not worth the money for you to modify it.. If you have to think about how much your spending, how much it costs, and how much you can recover, modifying ANY car is not for you.

good luck getting blue book value, most people wont even buy these cars used. pretty soon they wont have a choice though so maybe it will go up in value a little

ya im pretty sure most people got the evo wanting to mod it, pretty much every car i buy i mod, i cant drive a stock car, it has no personality, and i dont like buying cars that are already modded, you gotta buy the car, then make it your own

I purchased this car with the intention of keeping it forever so resale value means nothing to me.

FWIW the first year or two the Evo's were out, their value tanked.. Now that their getting a legendary supercar reputation from modified cars, you'll see the value for an unmolested original car do pretty well, modified cars are always an iffy sale to begin with.

If you bought your car with the intent of selling it in 2 years, then your not a true enthusiast..

Of course it worths it! every penny of it!

everytime i am on boost i have a huge smile on my face like an idiot... even when i am alone in the car...

My wife hates it though, because every time i floor it and i change gears, she keeps banging her head on the headrest...
