The Evo has two rev limiters. The first, is the traditional "keep my engine from exploding" limiter, which on IX's is set at (I believe) ~7600.
The Evo also has a secondary "stationary" limiter, which is tied to vehicle speed, and clutch pedal position. If speed == 0 and the clutch is depressed, then the rev limit becomes 5000. This is the 2-step that you will be bouncing off for a launch.

lol yeh, no idea. Ganna have to test it now that I knows it's there.
so when lauching?... are you suppose to full throttle it ?? ... 100% at WOT.. or half and half.... i mean i have the launch control set at 5700... but i just want to make sure if you are suppose to do a full throttle or not when launching!
I'm surprised that even Warr missed this but, nobody mentioned that the 2step only works in first gear. I know that people are going to sit there at a stop sign or light in neutral and rev the crap out of their car to 7k trying to test the two step. If the car even creeps a little (2-3mph) the 2step might not work.
Where do you live lowbdgt I can teach you if you're nearby if you want? Oh btw there is only one bracket racing day left at Sears Point this year, regular Wed. night drags ended a week or two ago.

Tested my 2-step tonight. Works like a champ. No idea it was even there. I have been easy on the evo due to the clutch but had to give it hell to see how well this works.
Sure beats the **** out of trying to hold it there like I did in my talon.
