About the year free SCCA membership for WRX owners, I heard stories on NASIOC of Subie voiding warrenties of those who actually used their membership to particiapte in events. Talk about entrapment......

How do they know it was 'your' Mitsubishi? Does the SCCA take vin numbers down or something? Next time you need a warranty (ligit) issue taken care of, file along with it some court papers. SCCA (BTW) is not any different than me running through a parking lot avoiding all of the curbs.

Good Luck,

jcnel

ok mitsu is saying "THIS CAR IS GREAT ITS CAPABLE OF YADA YADA YADA, but EVEN THOUGH IT'S CAPABLE AND THAT'S WHAT THE CAR IS MADE FOR, YOU CAN'T DO IT" Just like all the crankwalk cases in the 7 bolt DSMs. Mitsu makes a great car but there service and customer service sucks. Seriously makes me debate on wether i am actually going to get an EVO

FYI...I KNOW that WRX trannies have been zapped before on SCCA courses, AND the fact that Subie did cover 'most' of them.

Mitsu! Is the EVO a 'show' car or a performance car? Sheesh!

jcnel.

I thought Subaru voided warranties for joining the SCCA even though they gave out fliers? I'm pretty sure I read that somewhere...

Read this months Automobile magazine. They lost a synchro in their 4 seasons car and it was replaced under warranty. The worst part is that they write about track days in their magazine!

This is a new thread, but I honestly think this will become a big deal on both customer and sales sides of the discussion. Personally I feel its a good example of "Dont bite the hand that feeds you." Well Mitsu has now pissed a number of us off, how many sales do you think they will lose by the end of tonight?

I have no problem. When people toss things around on the Internet, they should scan whatever's in question so the rest of us can take a look at it and help out. Schmuck. Think twice before accusing people of having problems.

Anyhow, S2K, I'd advise against saying that it's an automatic web search thing without proof. They can nail you on that if you go to court. Be careful about what you say. Mitsu's known to take things from this board and use it against people.

I'd add more, but I'm sure I'd be accused of being a dick or something by your pal vtsnake, so I'll close it with a "good luck" and I hope you get the repair paid for.

If this is true then I want a refund on my EVO purchase to the amount of the cost of the (now useless) warrentee.

I would never have purchased the warrentee if it was going to be this much of a hassle.

I hope some A-hole executive at Mistubishi reads my response.

Oh yeah, I would also NEVER ask for a warrentee claim on the drive train because I freely admit that I autocross.

I also expect that if Mitsubishi sells a "performance" vehicle in the US that it is at a minimum going to be able to handle the alegded "abuse" that these sanctioned events are supposed to do to these cars.

Hell, if a geo metro can handle an autocross, why can't an EVO? Is there something Mitsubishi is not telling us? How many factory defects are you (mistubishi) hiding in the EVO?

Frome everything I have read inthe last year I never expect that Mitsu will ever honor the warrenty in any way. They already denied my clutch at 10k (really didn't expect them to cover). Just glad I did not purchase the extended plan.

We are all missing a really important point here. This guy bought his son a car to race. How cool is that! I need a new dad, would you like another kid!
