Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>
well, after reading this thread in it's entirety, I have to say, that he was up front from the beginning so the fault lies solely on the dealership for failure to mention the warranty ban, It's like buying a product only to be told after the fact they have your money. Man I have a RA Sportback and I have added the Hypergorund kit, I was at a dealer and they told me to take it off or it would void my warranty, I looked at this goof and said I bought it through Mitsu, it's a Mitsu part.... and then I showed him the box with the MITSU part # on it, I told him to take my car off the hoist and shove his service........ I know go to another dealer.
MSM_2KS or whatever is a famous guy now.
They use his screen name like 5 times in an article about this in sport compact car magazine this month. (or next month i never understood that).
ROFL x2
This keeps getting funny-er and funny-er
abuse your car = voided warranties
mod your car = possible voided warranties
beleive everything you read on the internet = you might wanna get a real brain, the plastic chew toy isnt working out.

His letter was referred to by two letters to the editor in the December 2004 Car and Drive too.
I was thinking...I wonder if a similar attitude will be taken by Mitsu about future lease returns too? As in saying some things are excess wear when they are a result of normal use. Like the crap-**** floor mats in the EVO for a minor example????

Good for Mitsubishi, You want to beat the crap out of a car and have someone cover it under the 10-yrs/100,000 miles Powertrain Components warranty? Who you kiddin', tell me the name of ANY car OR motorcycle company that's going to cover that. I'm sure your insurance company is in full knowledge of your hobby too.
According to Mitsu dealership here in Tyson's corner, any "performance part" put onto the Evo voids the warranty. This includes any type of exhaust change or air intake... He said thats why Mitsu does not sell these parts...
Then I asked him what would happen if there was a problem with the suspension, and it was not related to the engine at all. He said the whole warrenty would be voided regardless.
I guess they don't realize why people buy the Evo over the STi in the first place. Besides handling, the reason for me was the modification possibilities for the car.
The way Mitsu is going, they are asking to go out of business. Oh, I saw one of their commercials the other day bragging about having "the best warranty" in the US... Kind of ironic if you ask me...

i agree, you should ask them if ralliart parts viod your warrenty, i asked my service place and he said yea it does.. then I had to explain to him that ralliart is a branch of Mits... and that they actually sell a car called lancer ralliart... personally i think they are just all being a**holes.
my dealer replaced my clutch for me with an aftermarket clutch after admiting the stock one is defective and then a week later the voided all my warranty because they said i had an aftermarket clutch in there.....they put it in and never told me it would voice my warranty....now i'm in mitsubishi hell.....my car has never been beat on...i've been through a clutch 2 motors and now a transfer case...and i only have 4000 miles on the car and 1800 of them are from breaking motors in.....i've been running various cars at the track for 10 yrs now and have never had these kind of problems...Mitsubishi sucks...fun little car though!
haha i'm thinkin about just ditching the warrenty and gettin vishnu stage 1+... i onno though, alot of ppl been having issues with their evos, and i only have about 4000miles, soo i'm thinkin of waiting a while before just saying screw it. Afterall, with the way Mits is being these days, i wouldnt mind going back 2 the dealer and being a pain in the *** about probs with the car.
Vtex, i was going to do the same thing, wait a while and once i get some miles on it (10k) or so ill start doing mods but im going to wait a while just in case, even though the warranty is a joke!
yea, i think the warrenty is pretty ridiculous also, but then again, how many of us are actually going to keep the evo all stock? if you think about it, i dont think any of us, especially if we are on EvoM, are actually thinking about leaving it as it is. but i think this is the best way to go, log some miles, see that nothing is wrong, which prob will be the case since hte 4g63 is pretty solid of an engine, then show mits ur nice middle finger and start modding away. !
