those parts don't void your warranty, unless they're stated "for offroad use only"

Mitsu's missing out on some serious money without Ralliarts support here...
For example... some ppl want a lil' more oomph from an exhaust and lot's want to hear their car growl a lil' bit... stock, the car sounds like a leaf blower...

TRD's been very sucessful with their parts, i bought a bunch for my last car... all their parts were rediculously high quality, fit great, looked great, and best yet, were thoroughly R&D'd and gave some great performance... Soon you can order a Supercharger for the Scion Tc that works with your stock warranty and they've been selling other supercharger kits for their trucks and certain other cars for a while... If Ralliart produced parts like TRD does which would work with your warranty, I'd buy them for sure... for now though, it seems like if you mention you have imported ralliart stuff on your car, the service managers say "Ralli-what??? Warranty voided..."
Yeah, the Rep mentioned that the reason Ralliart was taking so long to get here was because they were still negotiating with Ralliart on the terms and what was to be introduced. I mentioned I was surprised, since I was under the impression that Ralliart was owned by Mitsu, to that he replied that it was not. hrm .... but he mentioned that Ralliart was the only company out there that knew about Mitsu cars the way Mitsu does ....

I find this really hard to believe.
This sounds like what has always been the case with warranties. Nowhere did it say you could abuse the car and have it covered. I suppose if my car was completely stock but I took it to a stunt driving course and did reverse-to-forward spins and drove on 2 wheels they should cover that too? You have a case for open-track days that aren't of the trading paint variety, but not drag race style driving regardless of where it is.

That rep sounds like a good person to know. I'm am very much thinking about buying an Evo in the future and I would have no intention of modding it (I have otehr cars for that) as it would be just my fun daily driver. But I can just see myself taking the car in for a fairly expensive problem and the dealer, like a knee-jerk reaction, just claims abuse. Then its their word against mine until something is actually proven. In the mean time I'm paying for the expensive repair. Of course not all dealers are the same in regards to wanting to do warranty work.
I really hope what you have posted turns out to be a new company wide attitude towards warranty stuff, but I am still a bit skeptical.

On the 03 EVO, the tranny is covered for 5years/60,000miles...

I was told that the peeling/discolored calipers where caused by brake fluid so go to another dealer if they wont replace them. They're covered for 3years/36,000miles..

ya know . . . unless you got that in writing somewhere, it really doesn't mean much, practically speaking, for most of us on these boards to just go to a dealer and tell them "well on the evo forums, they said that you would cover such and such."

No Matter what any dealer says this is how it goes. They cannot void your warranty no matter what, unless there is substantial evidence that the aftermarket part caused the problem that you are having than they do not have to fix it. Even what they say about the stock clutchs not being covered, under the "Magnuson Moss Warranty Act" they have to fix/replace it, if they refuse either threaten to take them to court, or actually do it, in the end even if they dont want to, there going to have to replace it.

If you dont believe me click on the link.
