Yes, if you do that then there will be an issue. He said that he knew these cars were meant to be driven hard but only after they are moving. Damage caused due to launching probably won't be covered ..... but it depends on a case by case basis
eg: on the stock clutch it may be covered as he admitted to me that the stock clutch acted as the fuse to the whole tranny ...

Are speculating that "Ralliart" or another (likely) sponsored MMNA company will be able to ship aftermarket performance parts to approved Mitsu Dealerships for installation and still maintain your warranty ?

Like get your regular VIII turned into FQ340 OR FQ400?!?

Wow that would be excellent! BUT what about the cost?!?

It'll be interesting to see if they follow through on parts, they said Ralliart parts when the car was released at the LA Auto Show and nothing has shown up, it's been almost two years.

So basically we can't do anything to our cars but a clutch and catback. That sucks. Too late for most of us. I'll just avoid the dealership and if anything happens, take some stuff out.

Yeah...That's too bad. I'm way beyond voiding my warranty, as are most people. I would think the bare minimum people usually do is an exhaust and intake. They grab you by the ***** and don't let go!

if its not written in black and white then they will find a way to void your warranty.

damn with 1000 mile warranty left, you tell me this.... or the tranny warranty is 5 years 50,000 miles?

i forget.

I know the bumper to bumper is 3 years, 36,000 miles.

And rust protection is 100,000 miles, 5 years.

what's the tranny warranty?

Toyota has TRD...
Nissan has Nismo...
those parts don't void your warranty, unless they're stated "for offroad use only"

Mitsu's missing out on some serious money without Ralliarts support here...
For example... some ppl want a lil' more oomph from an exhaust and lot's want to hear their car growl a lil' bit... stock, the car sounds like a leaf blower...

TRD's been very sucessful with their parts, i bought a bunch for my last car... all their parts were rediculously high quality, fit great, looked great, and best yet, were thoroughly R&D'd and gave some great performance... Soon you can order a Supercharger for the Scion Tc that works with your stock warranty and they've been selling other supercharger kits for their trucks and certain other cars for a while... If Ralliart produced parts like TRD does which would work with your warranty, I'd buy them for sure... for now though, it seems like if you mention you have imported ralliart stuff on your car, the service managers say "Ralli-what??? Warranty voided..."

yeah, i know what you're saying. that's odd though. i asked the mgr if i could order Ralliart parts from overseas and have the dealership install them. i also asked if i'd still be covered under warranty. he answered yes to both questions. im guessing some dealerships have asked about it while other's haven't.

woo woo

First of all, it would be great if we could get this from him in writing.

Second, they will cover all of this but will not help me with my peeling calipers.

Funny thing you mention that .... we spoke about that too ... heres the 411, he said that alot of people were using X brand wheel cleaners to clean their wheels and that they were very corrosive to the caliper paint. He said Mitsu would repaint (not replace) them once free of charge but they would never look like they did. He suggested not using wheels cleaners as they are extremely corrosive but just using soap and water .... hopefully that helps ...
