Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>
Blown engine at 15,000 miles & 5 months (2005 Evo). Dealer called Mitsu, Mitsu reps found threads on EvoM stating there were mods on the car, engine not covered under warranty and powertrain warranty now completely void in Mitsu's coorporate headquarters computer system in CA. Car still in garage. Payments still being made.

I have not had a reason to take mine in for work under warranty. The service manager did say however that if something did happen and it was not related to the mods on the car they would still fix it under warranty. The particular dealership is Manchester Mitsu in NH. It is on of the "greenlighted dealerships". The seem pretty cool there.
This might help a bit:

No problems here.
They replaced my clutch with an ACT unit and at the same time warrantied my slight tranny grind. 2 weeks after they replaced my clutch the t-case went out because they put tranny fluid in it. Replaced that.
Front passenger caliper took a dump on me and they replaced it and my rotor under warranty THROUGH THE MAIL. They didn't even get my car. He trusts that I know what im talking about and i sent him the faulty part and evidence it was faulty.
My service manager rocks, so ive had no problems with warranty work.

my local dealership had a MR on the rack when I went in last week. it was getting the tranny rebuilt. the service writers said the kid can't drive. he had a turbo, fmic, exhaust, e management etc. and they still fixed it even though they weren't too happy about it.
Just wondering if a "faulty" front O2 sensor is considered a warranty item? I'm wondering if I should even go to the dealer for some SES codes I've been getting or just buy a new sensor and replace it, myself?
Some info...
I've been getting P0131, p0134 and a p0171 codes just recently BUT the car runs ok and generally the same, for at least 15K miles after modding. The car is modded with bolt-ons and a mail-in Dynoflash (runs RICH!). Car recently hit 32K miles but I've been getting the codes at around 31K miles.
I've had the codes erased a few times, drove it around, boosting and all...but it comes back on as soon as I get on the freeway and cruise to around 60mph at around 3K rpms. I've NEVER used any leaded fuel, ONLY 93-94 unleaded fuel.
I can't figure out if the sensor is faulty or maybe there are other problems. I could use a better tune, but as for mods, I haven't really changed anything major.

since your car is moded, i dont think they will warrenty it. also on obd-II cars, when the check engine light comes on, the car will run in limp mode and the vehicle will run rich. on european obd-II cars, it will run lean with a cel
Wing Warranty
So the story starts back in Dec. when mitsu told me that they will cover my wing under warranty. Cool
. They said they would call me when it got in. Cool
. I call to check on the status in late January. Its on backorder till april. Ok whatever
. I call in April the cool parts guy's like yea man your order slips right here we are still waiting. Ok whatever
. I call today May 15. "Hes says they pushed it back on us we are looking like mid June". Im like I know this has nothing to do with the parts guy but I politely told him how this sucks and I gotta call corprate to see if I can get any information from them on the status of this thing.
I know some of you guys work for mitsu. Can you check and see if your dealer ordered one how long it would take to get.
Just thought Id vent. Thanks alot if anyone can find out.

i got my wing warrantied for the clear whiting out a year ago. i went in to Huntington beach mitsu in socal to get it checked, the next day they replaced it. they said they gave me someone elses, BUT they told me it usually only takes a week to get the wing.
I got my wing warrantied a year ago and it was quick and eay waited 2 weeks for it. I went back on Friday and showed them my wing is screwed up and i need a nother one. They said it will be months until I get it because of how back ordered they are. The manager told me the wongs are pieces of **** and they are trying to fix them! So you arent being lied to at all the wings just suck.
odd. i got mine within a week. like 2 weeks ago.
BUT i had to settle for a evo 9 wing. they said they dont make the 8 wing no more. or some crap.

. All they say is, "when it's in we will call you".
