Yea it sucks. The service manager gave me the spiel about how they are trying to fix the issue. But damn 5-6 months what are the engineers doing.

hey atleast they warrentied urs. THey denied my claim. Its wasnt the dealer either it was corperate. they had to come and see it first hand and they said no. I flipped out on the corperate guy and apologived to the dealerfor the scene. I just had a freind strip it and reclear it for me. he said the the clear over the carbon fiber was only 2"mils" thick where normal clear coat on paint is 5-6 "mils"

Mods Vs. Warranty

Hi guys, I'm a noob so please don't flame me for this. I've got a 2005 Evo that's bone stock and I'm interested in the stage 1 vishnu upgrade. If I put this in will it void my factory warranty? Thanks.

shouldn't void it, but they might give you a hard time about it. . . depends on the dealer

^^^depends on the problem you have related to the warranty and if your dealer is a PITA or not...but chances are you'll go through a lot of trouble because of it

Our car comes with a warranty???? OMG I had no clue.

All about the dealer, but if you are smart you will keep the stock parts and be knowledgeable enough to put it as close to stock as possible if you have to take the car in.

1. Anytime you play with the engine tuning, you will "restrict" your powertrain warranty. You will have a lot of trouble getting anything engine related covered.

2. Dont worry about it. Tune the car well, treat it well, and it will treat you well. Life is too short and cars are too much fun to be worried about warranty.

Go with the mods. do the correct mods and tune properly and take of the car and it will do the same. If you need any parts go to www.evo8engineering.com they sell any part you need or can get it for you and they are usually the cheapest

depends on the dealer. i've heard H.B. in california is mod friendly. i'm sure medina is, since they sell the BR cars. go to your local evo meet and ask the guru's.
