Warranty Issues <Mega Merge>
Im not sure if this is the place to ask or not, but its the best thread i could find on search. I want to put an RRM SRI V2.0 and RRM Crank Pulley on my 2009 gts. Should I worry about this voiding my warranty? I have a little under 30,000 miles of warranty left, so I dont want to lose it. If it would be a problem, couldnt I just put the stock pulley and intake box back on before i take it in without mitsu knowing if something were to go wrong?
will this b covered?
i know my car is waaaay out of warranty, but the issue is this - the trim around the sides of the windshield pops off now and then but has been popping off more frequently as of late...what gives?
Magnusen-Moss Act
I am very surprised hat given the extreme length of this thread, and number of years it has gone on, that nobody here has cited the Magnusen-Moss Act. It is federal law and states that the burden is on the manufacturer or dealer to show that your modification is what caused the failure: for example, if you put an aftermarket stereo in your vehicle, they cannot say that they will not warranty the turbo.
This is Wiki, but to get the entire federal law you must Google it. I have had a 1994 Toyota Supra Turbo, a 1997 Acura Integra Type R, a 1995 BMW M3 (heavily modded with 250k now on the clock) and a 2006 Evo IX MR and I have NEVER lost any warranty battle with a manufacturer or Carmax. Why? Cite this act and let those idiots show you it is your fault.

Do not despair! If you are dealing with Mitsubishi or Carmax you will win. If you are dealing with "Bob's Chevy/Ford/Dodge/used boats" then you might have a fight on your hands.
I have never owned a domestic car, so I don't know how those clowns act, but the German and Japanese car dealers don't put themselves in the open for a customer to show they were 'effed'.
What's happened to your Evo, and what are they whining about?

I took my evo in to get checked out by the dealer just before the warranty was up, they said they couldn't find anything wrong with my trans. I told them that i had a coolant smell coming inside the cabin, they found no problem. 1 week later just after my warranty expired, my heater core started leaking from the hose on the firewall, they said they wouldn't cover it because my warranty expired. After fighting I lost the battle. So i get my car back and a week later it doesn't start for hours. I pull the dash apart and **** is half a** put back together, get it running, start driving to the dealer to complain on their poor job and it breaks down on the way their. It's been there 2 weeks and they cant find the problem, they're saying my ecu is fried. Mitsubishi has horrible customer service and experience in my area. 2 weeks and can't figure out a no start problem. rediculous
