they can't deny you any warranty work unless the deny it to you in writing. it's the law.

Some progress

Quick update, I first called a dealer in another city to see if he could work with me and he was suprised by their denial. He was booked up, so I could not make an appointment with him. He told me to called Mistu Customer Service (888-MITSU-2005) and explain the situation. I called and they are sending a report to the "bad" dealer and a regional manager will have a talk with them. The customer service rep said Mitsu has a wear and tear "book" which is explains what they consider to be of this type. I have to call them Monday, so we can review the case. Wish me luck!

I just sent my email. If they respond I will post it. Everyone needs to put pressure on this dealer. It may not matter to you now, but it will make a difference for future evo owners with expensive defective broken Recaros. Just send a polite email about your concern for the Recaros warranty. Keep us posted. If it comes down to it, I have found that the best thing is to get a family member or close friend who is a lawyer to scare them a little bit without hurting your wallet.

Who has had their 5th gear synchro fixed under warranty with...

Just checking to see who has had their 5th gear synchro fixed under warranty with mods? I have a Vishnu Stage 1 and it just started the grind above 5k like a lot are complaining about. I did a search and a few have had it done under warranty but most weren't modded.

Thanks

I had mods on my car. Just not performance mods. So far my dealer told me if the mod is not a direct result of the problem he would fix anything that broke under warrenty.

my tranny was rebuild with a new 3 and 4 gear and output shaft. the dealer only charged 300 for a new clutch and installed the clutch line and braded brake lines for free for me.

I had mine done with most of the mods in my sig. Pretty much everything except the cams. Since the beginning I've been up-front with my dealership, telling them I'll take responsibility for things that I cause, but items that have TSB's as being common problems I would expect to be covered. They agreed with that, and we haven't had any problems.

Warranty Transfer Question...

I have an 05 GSR w/ 8200 miles and I have to sell since Im moving and buying a house and wont be able to afford insurance on the car anyway
I have the 10yr./100,000 mile warranty

does that transfer over to the new owner when I sell it?
how do I go about doing that?

TIA

No, it doesn't. They just get the base warranty, three years or whatever it is. Also, if you have the 45K free maintenance, they won't honor that, either. I bought a '05 with 2500 miles on it a couple months ago.

You ask a question and then don't like the answer?? Go RTFM, then, the 10Y100K warranty expressly says it's not transferable.

Sheesh.

Call the dealer and ask them, I know that the 3 yr 36k bumper to bumper stays w/ the car no matter who owns it.
