wastegate??

k when im at full throtttle my boost gauge bounces 1-1.2 bars. when im in 6th on the freeway around 70mph and floor it slowly i get full boost 1.3 bars but as the rpms start rising my boost level slowly drops 1.2 1.1etc.but my boost never goes under 1 bar. so basically the higher the rpm the less boost and the lower the rpm the more boost. im thinkin it could be a leak but not really...could there be a wastegate problem?

No problem. Sounds normal.

Your boost is regulated by your boost solenoid and ECU. The car is designed to taper boost at high RPM. Of course we all throw that out the window ASAP with a MBC and tune but the point is the car is working perfectly normal and is a big reason why your warranty is so good on a turbo car.

just wire the wastegate shut, that'll show it who's boss.

You're asking if the boost taper that all Evos have is a wastegate problem?

yea but at full thottle in a lower gear i never get full boost it usually sits around 1-1.1 bars. the only time i can get full boost is on the freeway in 6th and slowly go full throttle. also under hard accel. you can feel the car lurch forward then back from the bouncing boost. there has to be a problem.....

Is the car bone stock? I would put a ton of money down and say your internal wastegate is not giving you problems. I think my last post covers this thread though.....

like a shudder in the acceleration or like an on/off/on/off kind of rocking motion?

This is completely normal. You will never hit full boost in 1st or 2nd gear and you will never hold full boost over 5500RPM or so on a stock car. Again, this keeps the car running safer via the factory tune and the boost solenoid. If you want to hold max boost all the time, get a MBC or at least a reflash. Should get both IMO.

We all see less boost in lower gears, because there is less load. Again, 100% normal.

The only strange part is this back and forth boost fluctuation thing. Are you not driving at 100% throttle when doing this?

You should get flashed immediately after installing an intake, or you should probably put the stock intake back on until you can get a flash.
