boost ?

i know its normal to drop boost but it always seems that people always are holding 19-20 to redline. My IX spikes 22-23 w/the mods in my signature but by redline it only holds about 17 or so. Is this normal or should i check for boost leaks or somethin

check for boost leak. Mine hits 21psi on 3rd pull and tapers down to 20psi without a tune.
You shouldnt have that much taper specially with ur MBC and a tune.i would check for a boost leak.Bfore i installed my hallman it would hit 20 and down to 15 psi.My MBC took care of ny taper.

that is quite a bit of a drop.seems like it tapered more with a tune.I dont think its supposed to be that way.A tune is suppose to minimize taper.Have you done a boost leak test??

i have the same problem with my IX. i was tuned for TBE w/ HFC, apexi intake, hallman mbc. my boost spikes 23psi then tapers to about 17-18psi by redline. i also had a boost leak test done right before the tune so i know i don't have a boost leak. so i was wondering what can be the problem. i know the IX's tend to taper more than the VIII's, but this seemed a little too much. anyone have any ideas what can be causing this?

Generally, if you are using an MBC and spiking at 22 you will taper to ~17 by redline (via true 3 bar sensor)....Most quote looking at a gauge which at speed is next to impossible....

There are a few that are controlling boost via the ECU and have been able to hold much more boost to redline ...

You could have already done it (more than once) in the time since someone suggested it.
