I had a BR mini battery in my 03 8 and have one in my BR 350 IX,(comes with the BR350 package. My car sat for 3 days last week in below 0 temps and when i went to start it up it cranked up like it was summer out.

It really depends on how much parasitic draw there is from accessories. Mine will go dead after a few days and I've isolated it to the aftermarket radio I'm running. I'm planning on putting the stocker back in since I had no problems for a long time before I put in the aftermarket radio.

Battery is under warranty... so I will go that route

but the fear of going through this every (x) amount of months is a problem...

What will happen in the winter, when the car is parked?

Will probably have to go through this again...
These batteries die 25% faster in the cold... I'd consider a solar charger or a battery relocation kit.

Any pics of a solar charger?

I dont think a solar charger would work if you park in the garage for the winter...

15 lbs all-season Hawker Odyssey FTW. No problems with it here.

The mini batteries are an essential modification to save weight. It in itself might not do all that much but its a relatively inexpensive mod, especially if you just go out and buy a motorcycle battery and install it yourself. Having a mini battery, with lighter exhaust, lighter suspension, removed A/C, removed spare tire and jack, and other mods will start to add up, and before you know it you will be below the 3000lb curb weight.

I had an Odyssey PC 680 and it lasted three + years with more than a few run downs, though I think it's dead now after sitting in the shop for three weeks.

IMO a waste unless you use that reduction with other reductions to add to it such as jack and spare removal etc...or to make room for an UIP. id rather go a 10th or 2 slower and know i can change my flat if it happens and crank the engine over in the winter

I have a charger that is capable of 6v or 12v pushes 1.5 amps and when I park my vehicles for long periods I just plug it up (mine came with a set of wires that bolt to terminals and have a quick connect plug) and always when I want to use the vehicle the battery is fully charged. Cost me 18 bucks from sears.

I am looking for a smaller than stock battery just not a mini battery. I know someone who has modified the battery tray for a mini battery but a mini just seems too small. Anyone got any suggestions that would be great.

How hard is it to vent the trunk, cause it's looking like I'm gonna have to relocate my battery because I do want a sound system but nothing extreme, just a single 12, and 2 amps, one for the sub and one for my speakers.

Would the 6lbs Braille battery sufficient for our cars?

There is no winter in Hong Kong and almost never goes below 50, it stays over 90F for 10 months.

I don't listen to radio or music in the car, I plan on removing the radio and the speakers.

However I do have OEM alarm system, they come with the car so if you don't want it, you have to remove it manually.

If you do it the ghetto way, its not too hard.

Just remove your wing and you have holes there to vent the battery
