Ok heres a question for you guys (Posted in another thread but figured it would be worth it's own)

Would u guys jump from a stage 2 to a 4 with the and larger turbo on a ride with 70K on it? (I drive alot I know) If yea, what would you recommend as a "freshen up" things to go along with it. Basically I wanna keep this car for a long time and wanna make sure the extra power isn't going to kill the motor in the long run. Any thoughts??

 

I would do a compression test on the engine before going any further. If it's not burning any oil and it makes good (and even) compression across all 4 cylinders, that's a pretty good sign the bottom end is in solid shape.


I'd be inclined to pop off the head and install a new head gasket (either OEM or upgraded) and ARP head studs. And I'd be inclined to replace the fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter, and spark plugs. With a bigger turbo, you'll probably need more fuel anyway. I would also check the ignition wires to make sure they're in good shape.

If all that checks out, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

DO IT! but, take the opportunity to replace the wear and tear parts.

Wtf is a stage 2 & 4? Anyways as long as your engine is making decent compression it should be fine. You might want to just tear it apart and put new rods + pistons + bearings in just to feel safe, but its entirely up to you and your wallet.

 

I have 96k on the clock and put down 508awhp everyday that I drive it.

 

if you have the moeny i dont see y not some times bigger is better
