Stewart Warner Guages?

I am about to install my 3 SW and need some advice from people that have installed them. I have 3 elecrtical Oil Pres/Oil Temp/Water Temp. Now my question is (after searching) Will I need fitings or adapters for these guages or are the supplied senders and fittings good. Thanks

Also the Evo does have 2 plugs by the oil filter right? What size is the plug in there? I will be able to find stuff in my shop if I know the size. My first oil change is in 500 miles and I plan to install at that time.

the supplied taps and lines are all good, you should have everything you need to install.

not sure who you ordered your gauges from but i ordered my sw gauges from 42draftdesigns.com and they didnt come with the appropriate fittings to install them in the plugs by the oil filter. they did come with the correct senders. i will post a link to the fittings to install the oil temp, press, and water temp.

42draft designs has a good how-to writeup on how to install their 1-din 3-gauge kit. You can find it in the how-to section of evolutionm.net. It describes the necessary adapters needed to install oil pressure, oil temp and boost gauges. Also, if you go to the 42draftdesigns.com web site and look at their 3-gauge kit, it has links to all the adapters you'll need to install these gauges.

In my experience, 42draftdesigns has been a great company to work with -- you may just want to contact them directly and ask them what else you need.

Good luck

I purchased the guages from Summit and they were a great price. They came with a couple adapters/fitting's with reducers. I really am still looking for the size of the plugs by the oil filter. I have boatloads of elbows, y's, t's and AN's. Thank you guys for the 42draft write up. I am sure it will be helpful!

I have never had a problem with 42Draft. They have great customer service and ship super fast

Today I installed my Gruppe-s panel with gauges and stereo reloc. and did my first oil change and these adapters are a must. I have all kinds of fitings in my shop but none worked without resistance so I didn't force them. Thank you for posting links to exactly what I need.
