more mileage doesn't mean more wear and tear on your car....stop and go driving is a lot worse on your car even if it isn't as long of a trip.....i drive 40-50 miles a day round trip on the interstate with no traffic....that = fun...fun stops once i arrive at work then it starts again when i get off....unless you're going to sell your car and you want to keep the mileage low i'd drive the highway route...that will be better on you and your car

i bought a different car for driving to work grocery store etc
theres just some trips that are impossible to be fun and when youre in that situation theres no reason to drive the evo get a civic or an awd dsm youll have just as much fun and wont be looking at your odometer everyday
and if theres anything ive learned its fast and nice cars are fun
but theres nothing like driving a beater the joy of not caring is amazing
jumping up on curbs to get around people sitting waiting to turn maybe clipping a cone or two its all fun plus im sure you will get better gas mileage with ANY car then the evo

+1 its much more enjoyable for me to drive the evo less, becasue I get bored of things fast. And driving around a pos is much better b/c I dont care about it. Not worrying about dings, rock chips, mileage, the evo's not so great fuel economy, all that stuff is eliminated.

He-he.

If you're too stressed out about milege. Go city, and then if you're late one day take highway. But beater would help a lot in your situation

i always prefer the highway, just cause if it's not backed up, you won't get a headache on the way to work. yeah it's gonna be more miles, but i'm assuming it's gonna be the same "time" drive, like 20 minutes either option. at least you have a choice which you can take depending on what mood your in.

highway w no traffic = relax'd drive to work
side streets w traffic = alert fustrated drive
