Warm up...
This man does not...boosting after 2-3 mins is NOT good
I feel dumber reading some of these posts...I made a post listing all the answers to these common questions according to the pamphlet that is posted by "ak47po"
The car is not so raced out that its gonna bog if you drive away cold because of hollow cams. Thats ridiculous
The warm up process is meant mainly for two things: Emissions and Lubrication. Youre good to drive when the Temp needle BEGINS to move. No AGGRESSIVE driving until its at normal operating temp.

P.S. Funny how you say that yet you live in Cali, and you come in here acting as if you know everything. So you learned something new from this thread hot shot.
I always let my car warm until my temp gauge has at least gotten to the top of the "C." But i never bring into boost or above 4k until my oil temp gauge is at least above 55 or so. I always felt that the evo warmed up really quick?? It's the oil temp that seems to take forever
I fire my car up, let it idle for about 15sec and off I go. However, I don't start to roll into the boost until the oil temp gauge reads about 60deg C or so, which is usually twice the amount of time it takes for the coolant temp to reach normal opp temp. FWIW
The oil temp indicates lower because the probe is located in the sump.Measuring off the cylinder head will be more consistant and won't care about the water puddle you just drove through. The general theory for oil temp time is double the time of coolant!
