Rapid ticking ???? Bro i don't think i have heard rapid ticking as being "normal" on any ride. But it takes about 5-7 minutes for the temp gauge to get to half way.

The rapid ticking noise you are hearing are the evo's injectors. it's completely normal

Also remember the coolant gauge doesn't tell you when your engine is ready to be opened up. Your oil takes aprox 10-15 mins after the coolant gauge is in it's optimal range

From what I have read on here the rapid ticking is normal. I sure as hell have in from my RS and I'm not letting it bother me. If it bothers you take it to the dealer before you start modding. As for warm-up, 5 minutes and just go.

4 sho! ... its a normal sound and it goes away as the car warms up .... now if you are hearing a ticking sound even after the car has warmed up that is a different story.

Take a deep breath...Ah. Okay. The ticking is normal, as it has already been stated. My VIII does it while it's warming up, and so does my Brother's IX. From one OCD to another, it's all good. There...now you can obsess about something else.

No don't let it warn up. The car will warn quicker if you just get in it and go.

I start mine and let it idle for about 30 seconds, and I am gone. I don't drive it hard... h*ll it proly doesn't even see boost for 15 mins or so.

i start my evo up and then let it warm up until the needle on the temp guage starts to move up just above the lower dash of the temp guage just to be safe and then i start driving...just like it says in the owner's manual...this usually takes about 5 min on cold days...2-3 min on warm days and like 1 min on hot days
