Just to clarify, I was a Sgt in the US Army,Military Police Corps, SRT team member, team armorer, OPFOR weapons instructor, CT & VIP detail certified, Combat Life Saver, SUT and I currently train in MMA, aka:UFC type fighting. All that training doesn't make me special or better than anyone else, but it does give me a distinct advantage over a non trained civilian. I know the law and I was well within the law, I didn't take anything into my own hands, if I did, he would be dead! As I said earlier, if i had to do it again, I would definately do several things differently, but I would still have followed(at a greater distance) as I was not willing that this kook will be able to easily do this to someone else, my wife & daughter for example.
If we all take the view"let someone else deal with it", then, as Daniel Webster said "all that's necessary for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing"!
While I appreciate your perspective, I obviously do not concur.
We all need to be ready to get involved, but need the discermeant to know when not to, and that's the real crux of the matter.
