Good question, I am also looking for a cf hood/trunk and want to know the pros and cons of each...however doing my own search would probably be best. Anyone got part for sale?

as for the hoods, i weighed my seibon hood and my stock hood and the seibon was lighter by .2lbs. there are other hoods out there a lot lighter than that. again, it depends on the type of hood, and it's construction. if it has a fiberglass or full cf shell...if it's wet or dry carbon...all that makes a difference. there are hoods for our cars that weigh as little as 4lbs, and some that weigh 20+. you just have to look around and be willing to pay for quality.

if you're looking for carbon parts, i actually have a seibon trunk with UK trunk badge already installed for sale, as well as an OEM seibon Cf hood. i replaced the trunk with a chargespeed one, and i plan to do the same with the hood. good luck with the search.
Great post!! I re-posted I had "no clue" about the trunks though. This post will help alot of people.

the good stuff is never heavier than stock. people should know this. it's the people that wanna buy the cf "look" stuff that end up at similar weights to stock items.

Correct - there is a reason the guy who posted here earlier is selling his Seibon stuff

i'm selling the seibon stuff because i got a chargespeed trunk and the seibon hood doesn't match it. the chargespeed parts are higher quality, better weave, lighter construction, but also more than double the price. you get what you pay for. the seibon products aren't bad, but the chargespeed products are just better.

I have seibon evo style on my lancer. awsome quality. and the seibon evo trunk (fits evos and 02-03 lancers)... Perfect quality. I love seibons products myself.. EVODave makes the best CF trunk.

Seibon is junk and when I have enough evidence to prove it I will make a nice post for all to see. So far out of 9 Evo's with Seibon hoods only ONE of them looked and fit great. The rest (an assortment of TSII, OEM and CW) were ALL cracked and yellowing. The clear coat comes apart at the edges and the hoods are flimsy.
Seibon's quality is garbage. Thier products are not lighter than stock due to the fact they are FIBERGLASS frames with a thin sheet of CF on top. They have very poor craftsmanship and I will never buy something so cheaply made.
I made the mistake of buying thier CF vortex generator and it won't even fit on the roof. The damn thing is too narrow. And they won't even acknowledge my request for a replacement or refund.

Ask yourself something...why do you think thier hoods sell so cheap? Because they are cheaply made and they don't give a damn about the customer.

I guess I got lucky and I got the one hood and one trunk outa the bunch that fit.... haha

From the two parts I have, im happy with them. The CF has yellowed but that is because it sits in the sun all day while I work... No cracking as of yet and no foggyness or anything bad with the clear. had it on for one year. summer and winter.
