the reality here is slapping some parts from various manuf. on your car is fine for your own fun, but most owners will strip all that out when they go to sell it ! why, well because they will never get their money back on the upgrades because the car has no authenticity. i noticed dave was the first to work on bringing the serial cars through the dealers since mitsu wouldent even dare putting out uk varients like fq 320, 340, 360, their marketing strategy was bright, sell them detunned so everybody works them and the warrenty is out the window, lol. i own the #009 car and i am very happy with it. the car runs perfect unlike some who mix and match parts and the cars end up with hickups. they are a few grand over sticker but well worth it. the buschur racing staff were very nice and helpfull whenever i called them for advice. my only imperfection was a bad dv valve but the issue was resolved through "danny23" and buschur. also if you search their is more on this topic with my reply. whatever you decide the evo is just an awesome platform.
A warranty on aftermarket parts is not the same as I understand the warranty on the BR cars to be. The BR cars retain the factory warranty which the manufacturer will attempt to void if you install these parts yourself. Your $3000 turbo kit is warrantied, but the rest of your $32000 car is not. I give the BR cars a + for that reason alone.
However, if you keep modifying the BR car you purchase, I'm pretty sure that you're in the same boat. So, if you want your 12.6 sec BR car to be a 12.0 sec car, then you may as well buy a base Evo and modify it yourself.
As far as the Yenko comparisons, it could happen. I've read people taking about how Evo's will never be seen going for $200k at Barret Jackson, but who knows? The only reason the imports aren't there now is because they aren't rare enough yet. Rarity is one of the big reasons that we see classic domestics and Euros going for high figures at collector auctions. The limited availability of the BR cars could lead to the same outcome one day ...

MyEvoDream (like i mentioned in your powerpackage post) seeing as how you are from the boston area, you may want to check out the Turbotrix cars. i have a "TT340" and can't say enough about it. It is the same situation as the BR cars.

Thanks Carlo, that may make more sense cause, like you mentioned, I'm an east coast boy...do you know if there is a link to a direct specs or pics site of it? I think it's somewhere, i'm just missing it...thanks a lot!

Like everyone else said..there are people who just want the thrill to drive/own modded evos. They don't like working on cars, which in IMO its part of the fun when modding. They want a car where if anything goes wrong, they can bring it to the dealer and get it taken care of under warranty.
with that said, BR is just a mechanic that "assembles" a bunch of parts from everywhere, together
well, I really considered getting a BR350. the problem is the dealer give you a price that is not good compared to south coast, and they won't match at all. So you get screwed by at least 3K to start with. Then the package is $3500 which is not that great for what you get. So for the $6500 less than you can get it at south coast, you can really mod your car. You are gonna say, yes but you get the warranty. I talked to a few of people at Buschur and Medina Mitsubishi, and when it comes to the warranty, they are really not clear. They do not want to really tell you how the warranty will work. It is kinda fishy to me. It seems like they want to keep it a blurr so they can honor it or not depends on the situation. I really didn't get a goos feel abou it and also, they are a few thousand miles away from me. So, unless it is a major Blow, it is not worth going to them for the supposed warranty, and the local dealers could just void yours, since they do not reconise the supposed warranty from BR. I think until Mitsubishi spells out clearly that they will honor the waranty nationwide with the Br cars, and I dont even know if it is worth it since they are not even good at honoring the factory warranty, it will not be worth it. my 2 cents.

Whatever you think, If you want a reliable, smooth as glass, quick, fast, good mpg car that you dont have to do a thing to when you get it the BR cars are a fantastic deal. They,re not for everybody.Like i,ve said before,To each his own. All i know is that i am more than pleased with the car as are every other BR owner. And i,m lucky that i have a mod friendly mitsubishi dealer. Healey Mitsubishi in goshen NY. It hasnt been in for anything yet (thank god) but if i does i know i will be treated very fairly buy this dealer. They replaced my trans. t/c under warranty in my modded 03 (with an exedy twin) no questions asked.
