All other japanese/european cars I've deal with have had an external fuel filter. Is the sock on the EVO that much different than the other manufacturers?
I changed the fuel filter on my DSM at 75k, opened the can and unrolled the cardboard. I found a tiny bit of metal particles - an almost microscopic amount.
Therefore, I am not surprised that there is no external fuel filter on the Evo. It isn't needed.
Thats correct! on my evo 7 theres no external fuel filter. Only the one inside the tank w/c is a "fuel pump filter" & not a fuel filter. But some models of the 7 do have external fuel filters located close to underneath the battery.
