I looked everwhere, where is the fuel filter located for evo 7?

 

The only filter if the sock that is on the fuel pump in the tank.

 

how do i get to the pump? under rear seat?

 

Under the seat you'll see a metal cover with a wire loom going into it. Remove the screws and take out the filter carefully. There's a nice write up on evomoto. Here's the link -> click me

 

All other japanese/european cars I've deal with have had an external fuel filter. Is the sock on the EVO that much different than the other manufacturers?

 

I changed the fuel filter on my DSM at 75k, opened the can and unrolled the cardboard. I found a tiny bit of metal particles - an almost microscopic amount.

Therefore, I am not surprised that there is no external fuel filter on the Evo. It isn't needed.

 

Thats correct! on my evo 7 theres no external fuel filter. Only the one inside the tank w/c is a "fuel pump filter" & not a fuel filter. But some models of the 7 do have external fuel filters located close to underneath the battery.

 

There's another filter on the sender unit a cylinder type fuel filter

@Vorrman Ting On the 8 & 9 the filter is in the right side fuel tank port (see image). Dont you have the Evo7 service manual?

 

Old thread but this is correct and unknown to most evo owners even today. Fuel filter is under the other seat panel opposite the fuel pump guys!
