Extra Key Question

When I bought my EVO it came with one key and one remote. As bummed as I was Im living with it. However, there always comes and time an place when that extra key would come in handy (i.e lock your keys in the car, or misplace them).

I did a quick ebay search and found two sellers with Blank EVO Fobs (Uncut Evo Transponder Keys). Does anyone know of any other deals or persons that will have anything cheaper? Not that I am looking for a bargain, well yes I am, but I want to know if what Ebay has is overpriced.

Can any other mitsubishi blank (transponder) keys work the same? They all look like the same. Mind you I have an 03.

I know I may need to get them cut and possibly programmed at dealer, but thats why I am trying to save a bit on the keys themselves.

Thanks in Advance.

I just got two keys made at my mitsubishi dealer. The keys were 43 a piece at wholesale price and they only quoted me 35 to do both of them at the same time. So I paid about 120 total for both keys....(needed one for the autostart i put in)

for a transponder key thats very fair price. I would Do it form the Dealer, because its still go to be cut and programed and most lock places charge about 50 dollars to program the key.

Cant we just program them ourselves? Thats of course if you already have two keys.

But, looking at the Mitsubishi blanks they all seem to be the same key, obviously you would need it cut to the car and programmed to the car. Can anyone confirm that Mistubishi transponder keys are all the same?

If your using one of those keys for a autostart'er you just wasted money buying a extra with a transponder. Cause now your car is essentially a lancer es. Anyway, The cost of the transponder key is about 10$, programming most will do for 30-40 a key. Defiantly beats the the 150$+ service fee when you lose it.

No the EVO one is unique...looks the same but if you look close the notches are inverted from the other ones.

the cost may $10 , but u can buy for $10 ?
I have extra key w/o transponder just incase I have to open the car if I lost the key ,
definitely not gonna start the car at all

anyway $40 + $10 is close the other guy who got a $60 per key programmed deal anyway
