They are tryng to portray what t s like when you hit nos, trust me it feels like that when you have a sudden burst of speed.A 9 sec.1/4 mile seems like 9 mins, but worth it when you when the race!

Well, the nitrous is generally used right off the bat when you hit the gas, no? (I mean, aren't the serious racers activating the nitrous with the gas pedal?) The funky thing about those movies is that they are like a mile behind the other car and they hit those buttons and suddenly it's like a blurr of speed, like the Enterprise going into warp speed...... Yeah, right.... It's totally unrealistic and phony, but like I said, it's just entertainment...

I guess you don't know how NOS works or how it makes your car go faster. Here you go.

It does not take a rocket scientist to know that a 50 HP shot of nitrous is just like it says, 50 more hp.... That's a lot and people put even more than that in their cars, but still the movies don't show it like it is.
Anyway, I was talking about the 2F2F movie, etc. I don't know how this thread became a "how to" nitrous oxide test.. geez
I guess I'm wrong and the only freaking thing realistic in the movie is the NOS application, go figure.....
Ok, then go see the movie anyway and I'll promise to not opine on NOS anymore

Car Mag Tests
After resding how beat up and slow the cars from the movie are, maybe with a 300 shot of nitrous they do go into warp speed, maybe breaking into the 13s even...

SilverEVO8-I didn't know that you were there. I was there too with my red evo. I parked on the other side of the mall though, there was a black evo by me with a dealer tag on it. Oh well, maybe next time we'll meet up.

I definitely would like to catch up with other EVO drivers some time to just chat, compare cars, etc. I'll have some mods in by the time we meet

I don't think a button you have to keep pressed to activate the nitrous is realisitic really. Most nitrous systems simply have a switch that you flip on before you even race...and the nitrous is triggered by either nitrous controller with electronics activating at certain rpm or by simple activation switch near the throttle body when you have wot. I have a good bit of experience with nitrous...I use a 200hp shot on my 10 sec Mustang.

The yellow Evo with the window stickers was from Arrows Mitsubishi. Max the sales manager drove it down for the free 2f2f showing. He didn't get there in time to see the movie though. I came down with my red Evo but only stayed for a few minutes.

The reason they make it like they are goiong into warp drive is to portray how speed feels. If you watched the FF tricked edition enhanced viewing they talk all about why they did it like that. and why a 14 second race takes 3 minutes of movie time. How they view it from every car and driver perspectives. It was made to be eye candy not a realistic portayal.
As for the nos thing, when I have seen it used they don't always hit it off the line and they can surge very hard at the end. It just depends on how hard you wanna be on your car.
