Just buy some snows and be done with it, or dont drive it in the winter.

I thought "Hey, why not check with Yokohama directly? Surely information like this would be on their web site!"

Well, no. Apparently the A006 is an OEM tire they don't list directly. Nothing in the manual or generic Yokohama warranty card about usage, temperature ratings, etc.

The latter doc does list Yokohama's corporate phone number. I could call there, I suppose, and see what they say...

I dont see any rust on the engine...you sure its a EVO engine?!?!?! LOL, when I bought my car early this month they had 6 EVOs on the lot. First one I looked at (the one I bought) had rust on the manifold...so did the other 5. LOL, I was like WTF. I guess its because the hole in the hood points right down at the manifold.

what does this have to do w/ the stock advans in cold weather....

Anyways, Ive been driving on my stock advans for the last few nights on dry roads and the temps have been in the 30's - 40's w/ no tire spin or traction problems...

Whatever dude...just having some fun. I think the question was well answered on the 1st page so it was free to take off topic after that.

I almost died when I got stuck in a snow storm with my advans. Never drive with them in really cold temps. especially on any wet or snowy roads.

They dont seem to handle anywhere near as good as the BFG KDW-2s in the rain. The KDW-2's are a great tire btw for the price.

Advans in the snow......

The street is sorta plowed - at least there is a driving lane. Then another car approcaches and I move over. This puts the two passenger side wheels in deeper snow. The car starts to pull right. I steer left to no effect. Headed for the ditch I hit the brakes, the steering wheel is stll cranked left. The ABS kicks in and the two left wheels brake, the ABS is trying to steer the car left. I end up in the ditch and pull out my flip phone to call for a two wheel drive wrecker to pull out my four wheel drive car.

When you take a product and use it for something that it wasnt engineered for, without modifying it, the result can be ugly. I doubt those tires were engineered to operate in that temperature range, therefore I would definitely get some winter tires or all seasons.

It's not raw steel, but rather cast iron.
