Where are you getting your oil changed?
Okay guys...I will shed some light on this. My Evo is at the dealer for some engine noise and the FIRST thing they asked for and required was certified receipts of oil changes at Mitsu dealers. They are serious about this, and will deny your claim without the proper receipts. Stinks, but it is the real world.
Ok everyone read this:
THE DEALERS ARE CRACK HEADS
My dealer tells me, and I quote, "The use of Amsoil Full Synthetic will void your warranty."
So what do I do? I call up MMSA and see what they have to say. Heres their answer, and I quote, "The use of Amsoil Full Synthetic will in NO way void your warranty. We do however, recommend Mobil 1. Again Amsoil will certainly not void your warranty."
I had them document that on my customer file.... stupid dealers...

read your warranty...it will tell u what will void it
changing your own oil as long as it is documented will not void it...requiring that the dealer change it would not be ethical or legal
as boosted said some dealers don't have a clue....fortunatly i have a semi decent dealer near by...the treated my nephew and his eclipse very well
