There is no doubt that Ralliart COULD supply an ECU that would produce power rivalling the US STi. From http://www.mitsubishicars.com/compan..._20020812.html:
Team Mitsubishi’s all-wheel-drive Evo VII has all the ingredients to make a top finish a real possibility.

Its turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter, DOHC 4-cylinder engine, incorporating a custom RalliArt engine control module, creates 375 horsepower at 18 psi of boost and 6,000rpm.
However, the problem/question is whether Mistsu dealers can install such ECMs on street cars while remaing immune to the $25,000 fine that the EPA imposes on new car dealers for "tampering" with emissions control devices or design.

Sure it will. But not with a 300hp ECU upgrade.

shiv

you hope this is the true

it does not take a rocket scientist to see how a 'super' chip with a warranty could really beat up on aftermarket tuning companies like vishnu

but i'll take your word for it - you've been pretty honest from the posts ive read

Actually, it is beginning to look like the STi's VF39 and the Evo's twin-scroll 16G are both capable of similar power potentials (probably within 10-20 whp).

The salesman told me that if I bought one from him today, he could 99.9% assure me that they would have Ralliart afterburners and Ralliart/NASA developed tires for the EVO so that I could break the sound barrier. He told me that package would be called the UQ3000 package [Ungodly Quick / 3,000 hp] and would retail for $99, which includes UQ signature edition floormats and a limited lifetime full factory warranty (on the floor mats).

Um, no he didn't. Why even post stuff like that? We all know sales types will feed us a line. That's not the point. It's still useful to hear what they're saying even if it's not true. If we hear one sales schmoe in MD saying it, we ignore appropriately. If others respond from various other areas saying the same, then we start wondering. It's still useful field data even if it can be totally ignored.

And here I've been telling people you guys might actually be a reasonable shop to work with (even though you're ignoring my PMs and e-mails). Then a post like this makes me wonder again what the real story is.

Yeah I know what you mean. It's almost like those WORKS people who keep posting about their ECU chip, but almost never give any real details of how much it will cost, how many hp it will give etc etc <j/k>
