i have a set of 4 ton jack stands...too high for my racing jack so i had to use the racing jack, jack it all the way up..then use my suv's jack put it on top of a brick then jack it up more a few inches so i can put the jackstand underneath. having the car on jack stands made installing the exhaust a lot easier...and also having a buddy help you is a plus too. lol!

I used those big SUV jack stands you get at wal-mart. You can do it with one person, but pulling the stock cat-back off by yourself is pretty stinking heavy.

I used 4-ton Craftsman jack stands and a bottle-style jack.

I used some extra jack stands to hold the exhaust as I took the exhaust off the hangers. I removed the whole turbo-back off in one piece and put it on some cardboard to slide it out from under the car.

It took a fairly long time (6hrs+) for me since I haven't done anything like this before.

I don't even know how this is possible...How thin is your head???

You'll definitely want to jack your car up. 2ton jack stands (4K pounds) are fine, but just make sure you use proper jacking points (several posts on this -- so search).

You may want to (highly recommend) have the downpipe coated by Swain before installing to keep heat off the transfer case and oil pan (very very close) or wrap the DP in thermal wrap. Although you can do the install at home, it is MUCH easier to do on a lift (at a shop) and would only cost you ~50 - 75 so I'd recommend just having a shop install it for you.

Good luck

not to be a jackass, but a 2 post lift. Just use a lift, your life will be easier. you can think more clearly when blood is going to and fro you head properly. The easit way, is to take off the under brace, then remove the whole stocker from the turbo back. Use some wd40 on the hangers and I think like 3 of them there are bolts, should be a 10mm. Your gunna have to remove the metal sleeves inside some of the hangers. After you get the stocker out, just asemble the whole Turbo back on the floor But don't tighten it down too much leave a little play, then just put the whole thing in. IF you got a freind and a Lift it should be done in 1/2 hour or less. I did mine in 15 mins . Or you can just pay someone else to do it.

I dont even think a standard size skeleton can fit under there without it being jacked up.

If we all had easy access to a lift I don't think this post would even be made.
I think alot want to do it in their own garage and dont deem it practical to have a lift in their garage.

I wanted to do mine. Be aware that you may have some issues...

I was not able to remove the O2 sensor which was stuck (after 3 hours of hassle to remove all the clamps). I damaged it a little and before it was too late I decided to ask a shop to do it. They did it with a lift and air tools, it was much easier

breaker bar is your friend when removing O2 sensors.
The whole exhaust was done in about 2hours taking breaks.
It's pretty easy but...yeah the o2 sensor is kind of difficult to remove.

I am just Saying if there is a way you can get to a lift you can have it done all fast. Like I'll put an exhaust, from the turbo back, in for $175. So thats not too bad. Because being on the floor and all on your back getting rust and dirt in your eye must realy suck.

You can go to your local autozone and they loan you a 02 sensor remover. It works great. I also suggest putting a bit of anti-seize on the threads of the 02 sensor when reinstalling it so it comes out nice and easily the next time you come around to removing it.
