3 lines on Evo 9 dash?

I've noticed this on all the 9's I've seen.

What is the 3 lines on the dash between the steering column and the HVAC surround? On the right of the steering column.

None of the 8's I've seen have this.

What are they?

I was thinkin that maybe there was an auto temp option in the works and that would be where the fan and thermo switch would be. My brother's NSX has the same thing.

almost every car there has blue tooth... your not allowed to talk on the phone and drive in many countries

i'm gonna guess 25% of accidents are due to alcohol... the other 25% are do to ipods and cell phones

I think it's for a mic for noise compensation equipped radios.

It can be for a big list of things we don't have. Bluetooth mic, auto climate temp sensor, noise compensation, etc.

So heres my guess. I'm guessing it is to make the door chime a bit more audible since i'm assuming the door chimer noise is coming from somewhere behind the dash.

My VIII didn't have the chime when the seat belt wasn't fastened. I think that's where the door chime speaker is. Sorry guys, its nothing extravagent.
