Well the fiances aunt and uncle own the company that builds the houses where we will be building so we will be buying a lot from them and then her father will be the general contractor so we save a ton and can custom build.

sounds like you will have a much better experience then we did!
of course, the builder wanted to back out of contract....from the time we signed to the time they finished the house (8 months), the price of the house went up almost 100k. so they wanted to cancel us and sell it to somebody else who hadnt locked in at the low price.

I just purchased a house and they say not to by anything i.e. car, charge on the credit card, etc.. for at least five months before the purchase of a house. If you are going to do a construction loan then it is going to be harder to get approved. I say stick with the car. I think in the long run you will regret it. 24.5 seems to be a decent price all factors considered.

I have an Idea for you..... whatever your payoff is lets say 20k for example, if your buying the house for 150k. If your credits strong enough you can finance 170k and get 20k back at closing. This way you have the title to your car and your mortgage payments won't go up that much. Youll wind up saving 100-300 bucks a month depending on what your car payments are.

indeed. Take notice folks, NADA is what the insurance companies and most banks use for values/total losses. KBB is only used by dealers BECAUSE it is high, so the car you are buying is "$3,000 below KBB!!! OMGZ!!"

dang home are that cheap over there!!! in california lowest homes are like 1million +....yea

this was brought up on the first page of the thread.

anyway, i was at the dealer last night and i was offered around $20k-$21k for trade in on my 2005 Evo that is mostly stock, garage kept, and only has 8,000 miles. Evo's don't hold their value. Not sure if it's because of the big wing or if it's just b/c it's a Mitsubishi. Anyone have any success stories of trading in or selling their Evo?

i have so much to think about...i got the EVO out tonight, it usually is parked and covered, and i realized how much i missed the turbo since my daily driver is a '90 LS Teg and i haven't driven the EVO in about a month. This may be one of the hardest things that i have had to decide in my entire life....so far.

ya but do u have a at least one home (along with ur evo) already? u dont rly fit the same bill he's in. if u can afford it financially keep both. assuming u dont blow ur money on other **** then u deserve some fun in ur life - not just a nice home to live in. if u smoke or drink quit and put it towards the evo or just in the bank for when the evo brakes if it does.

I bought my '03 w/ 50k miles for $19k, so I think your car could fetch at least $24k.

your right, people deserve to have fun in life. I don't think his bride to be would take to living in the back of an evo though. and yes I own my own home w/ my evo. It's not a hard goal to accomplish if you work hard and have patience. I did wait until my thirties to buy a car like my evo.
