Thinkin of sellin the EVO

Well i need some suggested pricing on this thing. I am in the middle of buying property to have a house built since i will be getting married in May of '08 and i need to clear up some debt. My main, pretty much only, debt is my Evo. It hurts more then anything to get rid of it since it is such a great car and fun to drive but i can always purchase another after i get this house thing squared away and the fiances car paid off. It is an '04, silver, leather, sunroof, infinity sound system, 28,XXX miles, and is pretty much flawless.....oh yeah, and new brakes and tires. Now KBB says that it can go for a max of $27,000 so what do you guys think is realistic? My guess...$24,500. Throw some numbers out there for me.

KBB is high - for a reason, which is why dealers used it.

go to www.nada.com for a more realistic price. I do think that the $24K range is reasonable considering the low mileage and sunroof, etc.

24,500 sounds reasonable, stick with that.

Damn dude I got the same car, cept 05 and about 19800 miles. I think mine I could max out at selling around 25. For you I sould say shoot for 22500 max. I know there is definitley not a large abundance of used Evos in the Illinois area so once they get posted they sell pretty fast. I'm not sure how it is over in Missouri

Talk to your broker or bank. Get a bigger mortgage and pay off the car. In terms of monthly mortage payments it'll be nothing because it's rolled into a 30 or 40 year loan. Maybe $20/mo extra. I dunno. I'm pretty sure you can do this. Instead of buying a $250k home you're buying a $275k home. That's how much homes cost in that area, right?

I've actually spent the last month researching pricing on 04 and 05 evos with similar mileage. I will be making a purchase once i receive my tax return and pay off my last credit card, which can't come soon enough!

Based on what I've seen, pricing varies quite a bit. I've seen some in the 28's and some in the 22's with very similar mileage, mods, etc. in general the 23-25 range sounds about right for your 04. with the SSL package i think 24,500 sounds reasonable.

I'd set your price and see what happens. If the fish aren't biting, knock 500 off and go on from there.

If all else fails and you're still stuck with your car in the next few months and are willing to sell for 23,500 give me a call

carrying a car payment will probably help you get a better rate on your mortgage.
you're using more of your available credit, which ups your score. also making your monthly payments does more for your credit score then paying off a loan.

and if you get rid of the evo, you're going to replace it with what? you owe 20k on it, so say you get a used car for 10k? you're going to hate it, and its going to need work. so by getting rid of that $400 a month payment, you're going to wind up dumping $200 a month into a used car that you hate in between payments and repairs. $200 a month difference.....thats taking the wife out to eat a few times.
keep the evo!

It also has, if it matters, the Dynoflash mail in tune, tinted windows all the way around, and it came with the 45,000 mile free oil change package....although im not sure if you can transfer that or not.

Well i wor for Citi Home Equity and i know yu can consolidate all into one loan but im not sure what i want to do. Like i said, i love the car but i also want to be able to afford other nice things....plus once you roll the car into the loan, you will be paying for it for a looooooong time.....

Actually i was going to buy my old car back from my buddy. It is a '94 GS-R that has some stuff done to it and isn't riced out but it has been well taken care of. He would sell it back to me for about $4g's.
