Back when I used to have my Z32 I was modding it. After each mod I thought it acutally got slower...Then dyno proved me wrong

I have that same feeling and I also think it is a boost leak. It's probably just me and that's why I am looking at getting the BR Stage I.

Not this again, like everybody else said, your use to the power. Every time I mod my car, it takes about a week or so and I am already use to it. I took my co-worker the other day for a ride and gave it some gas and my car honestly just felt ok to me, but he was all amazed. My car had some work done to it, and the mechanic took the car out to make sure it was working ok, he came back with the biggest smile on his face and gave me the thumbs up. Seriously I wasn't expecting that, you just get use to it.

Also a good solution, is to one day, just really give it some gas and for a couple of miles drive like a maniac, my EVO always brings a smile to my face when I do that, because normally I drive pretty slow.

I do - definitely. When I first got the Evo it was the fastest car I had ever driven. Then it kinda slowed down. Then I got a custom tune and it felt fast again. Now it feels so-so. The reason is, of course, that I'm getting used to it. Knowing this I can A) spend more money on modifications B) just appreciate what I have and stop before the mod bug continues to bite. I'm opting for B. I've seen too many posts from guys with 10,000 WHP complaining that their car is too slow. It's too easy to allow yourself to slip into perpetual dissatisfaction.

10,000 WHP huh? That'd be quite a car! Seriously, though, another solution for reassuring yourself that you're just getting used to it is to try riding in the passenger seat with somebody else driving. Everytime I've done that I notice the car feels a lot stronger, because I can't anticipate the acceleration as much. In my case, though, I actually had the opposite thing happen...from day 1 the car didn't feel as fast as another evo I test drove. Then a week ago I had it in the shop, suspicious because the gas mileage was going downhill, and they found that my spark plugs were almost completely closed! They fixed the gaps and since then I've noticed a large increase in power at lower revs, as well as better gas mileage and a smoother idle. Now it feels like a whole new car! Oh, another way you could be sure that you're not leaking boost is to install a boost gauge

Your just getting used to it. I only drive my car a few times a week...and my mods are in my sig, I went to drive my buddys stock evo and it felt like so...flat compared to mine like a honda or something....kinda scared me lol....the main thing with these cars it seems like the damn cat just restrains the car so much its ridiculous. One guy told me "having the cat on is like running around a field with a paracut on" and damn was he right. Anyway mod up! 28psi and meth won't feel slow haha.

This is why I like those little plug in dash performance doodads. They are worthless for real 1/4 times, HP levels or much of anything else but they will give you a baseline with your car and let you know if you are stronger or weaker. That in and of itself is helpful but not something you can really brag about.

When I first bought mine used I had the same feeling of power, but then I got used to it. I will say one thing just like any other car it gets even slower when you have four adults in it. I toke my brother, cuisin, and step brother for a spin cause they never road in one, and that dang thing wouldn't even kick out sideways.lol I said after that I need some MODS!. Now I have turbo back, controller, intake, and flash and I am happy now. I have yet to get used to it. Its a fast SOB now. I launched on my back road straight away I have and as soon as dumped the clunch and floored it all wheels screamed and I had tunnel vision for about 400 feet. I am happy now, but.............I could use some more mods....Im obsessed LOL.

my car feels like a slug to me. jestr just recently reflashed mine and i instantly noticed a ton more torque over the whole power band and much more power available early on, but im already used to it again and wanting more. this mod bug consumes me.

but seriously. i've had mine nearly 2 years now (march will be it's second birthday) and im just too used to it. this weekend i went to a domestic meet that some friends hosted and it was me, 6 mutang GT's 1 SS, 1 c5 z06 and 1 formula. i'd never met any of them and some of them took rides in my car and were amazed and now want evo's. feels so normal to me though

That's probably it. I can't say that I empathize, as the Evo feels blinding quick to me every time I pitch the thing into a corner. As far as mindlessly flooring the throttle in a straight line, I'll gladly leave that to others.
