Thumbs up Boost leak repaired, read on!!

First i got to hand it out to Warrtalon.. His replies made the fix to my problem:

Problem:
WOT till 6,000rpm after which i get a sudden Whissssstle sound, and the boost would drop from 22psi to 15psi.. engine stalls as if it's pulling a trailer!

Reason:
I boost 22psi so i thought it's an obvious boost leak.. Turned out to be the air filter snorkle has its clips removed *just installed an air diverter and too lazy to put the clips back* So the vaccum makes the snorkle raise up and stick to the hood, thus blocking air coming in.. you guess the rest...

Fix:
Just clip the whole diverter botls, clip back the snorkle the right way, drive out at all gears.. cars pulls like ever!

What seemed to be a serious problem to trace was just a 'click' away! It could happen to you!

I had the same problem shortly after I installed my boost controller and gauge.

I had the same problem but mine dropped boost worse. From about 28psi down to 10psi. Ran an 8.32 @ 77mph in the 1/8th while trying to figure out the problem lol.

Thanks for this post, we noticed the same problem this weekend in phoenix. Just kept it under 5k rpm til we got home. I need to find some clips. Maybe its a good time to look into a new BOV and other odds and ends! Hopefully thisll fix the problem!

When I got my car tuned, the guy who went after me was explaining how he had the exact same problem.

Just complete boost cut because the snorkle sealed against the hood.

There are extra clips in your trunk. I even lost those and am using screws now. Not as tight as the clips, but still works.
