My transmission is notchy when cold only. Once the car warms up, it feels much better. This is on a 6-speed MR though... The IX (with 5-speed) I had before (had it for 200 miles before I went back and got the MR) had a very harsh gear change. The 6-speed feels much smoother - when warm.

New SE with 3000 miles and I have what I think is a bad 3rd gear syn. and a closet full of mods. When I make it home it is going in to be looked at before the transformation begins.
