Got my car back after accident
So i finally go my car back after over a month. Got into the car and noticed immediately that my SRS light is on. My scanner wont clear the code. Called Mitsu, that said no problem, just come down and they will clear it. Then I noticed that my stereo face did not flip down (kenwood), I showed the guy from the autoboday place, and he had no clue. So I finally start driving, hit the gas and I see 24psi so I immediately took my foot off the gas. I should have expected this, because they put the stock IC back on. adjusted everything, car runs great. Then I park the car, lock it, and I noticed I did not hear the horn beep. Sure enough, I open the door, hit the horn, and nothing?
Does anyone know where the horn is? I am sure that I can find it, I just need a starting point. maybe they forgot to hook it back up.
Overall, so far the car looks great. 2003 Evo with a brand new paint job.

I think you can set the horn to sound off and not to sound off when you hit your lock button on the key fob. I had that option on my 2002 Galant GTZ. I don't have the manual in front of me so I could just be talking out my fourth point of contact. It wouldn't be the first time.
2 horns for the 04 evo...one is in the grill up frt to the rt of the center brace, the other is on the drivers side behind and above the break duct...just behind the bumper...will need to climb under the car and look up....with the drip pan removed.
Update:
I went through all the fuses.
Found 1 20A fuse under the dash shot. Replace that.
Than under the hood I found 3 fuses shot
I found 2 30A fuses blown and 1 10A fuse blown. The second I replaced the 10A fuse, it blew again.
I am going to replace all the fuses at once tomorrow. I will see what happens then. Then after that, to Mitsu I go, and Progressive will have to pay.
and all of a sudden my stereo started working.

I would'nt even bother replacing fuses.
I'd go straight to the Body shop and have them or they would have a Mitsu dealer look at the problem while it's still "fresh" from getting repaired.
Cause what happens if the fuses you replaced didn't blow right away but 1 year later you have the same problem? You think the Body shop would fix it for you then?

i hit black ice getting onto the highway that had an approximate 45 degree turn. my back end spun out, hit the concrete barrier and then I hit the other concrete barrier pretty much straight on. no bags deployed. I was only going about 10mph when I lost it. anyways, i got it back today and i find a total of 4 fuses shot. the car runs fine, I just have no horn and the srs light is on.
Its in the steering wheel and it doesnt matter because you didn't do the repair.
I work for a body shop and my advice to you is exactly what Nad1370 said: go straight back to the body shop.
When cars are put back together there is almost always something, body shop techs and owners expect this. Take it back to them with a detialed list of eactly what is wrong and if they cannot figure it out/fix it then they will end up taking it to the dealer who will (and just charge the insurance themselves). You should not have to do anything yoruself, in fact taking it to Mitsu yourself you will likely get denied by the insurance company; Ive seen it happen.
I highly doubt any of these guys know "you need a new clock spring". Any tech should know about removal/installation of steering wheels/airbags...etc You probably just need the light turned off from the dealer to tell you the truth. Even if all the fuses go back in with no fuss, you should be having them do all of this. Once you start playing with it than warranty work and clamis about the repair may get semi-voided.

So I called the body shop and they car is going back on Monday. But check this out. I did replace all the fuses today but the 10A fuse under the hood blew immediately, so there is def a short somewheres. But anyways, I was walking around the car and i noticed that the tire tread of the tire they replaced looked different than the others I have on the car. I look at the tire, and sure enough, they put the wrong freakin tire on the car. I cant even believe it. I have Blizzak LM25's on and they put Blizzak WS-50's on. I started laughing. So list goes like this:
1. I had to put the stock IC back on (the car actually responds better)
2. SRS light is on
3. 4 Fuses were blown
4. Horn doesnt work
5. They put the wrong tire on
6. My drivers side high beam doesnt work and the high beam indicator lamp does not come on.
Moral of the story....DONT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I still cant believe they fixed my car. I saw the total bill today....over 20K. These cars are like tin-foil.

I've ran into a few Evo's that have been salvaged-repaired (Re: bought one recently, bad idea, story later).
Issue is, people are hacks. They're also lazy. Of the four I've seen, two were unsafe/unworthy of the road, and the other two had alot of cosmetic damage.

If it's over $20K then it should have been totaled. Don't know how your inssurance agreed to the cost.
Most cars that came from a wreck will never be the same.
I'd trade out of it and get me a IX while they're still available, if you still like the Evo
Evo's are not tin foil. They're called crumple zones. If it was, you would'nt be walking right now.

to be honest....the car still runs great. I was running a larger FMIC with the stocker turbo and now that the stock FMIC is back on, the car is more responsive and boost is rock solid. I just have a few issues to fix.
Sitting at home i have 272cams; 20G9LT, 780cc injectors, exhaust manifold, o2 housing and a few more goodies. I was debating on installing the parts after the accident, but the car still runs good, so I think i am going to proceed as planned. i will let you all know how it turns out.
