SCC mag goes Evo Crazy!
SCC has been a great magazine. The articles are well writted and do not feature large gramatical errors like the Modified magazine I subscribe too also.
Furthermore I think SCC is in bed with Mitsu because they have so much EVO backing it is hard to not see them talking about an EVO. I find their articles very detailed and a good twist. They used to be Honda motivated but then came the WRX/EVO and things changed for this magazine.
The EVO is the benchmark car for all others in SCC...this has got to tell you something.

I was going to post something along the same lines. My God folks. How much MORE does SCC have to write about the Evo before you give it your seal of approval? On nearly every issue there will be something on the cover, either a picture or headline, that makes reference to an Evo story. Even the evolutionm.com Evo VIII was featured in there. I can't imagine any magazine being more on the Evo's nuts than SCC. I've been a subscriber for at least 5 years now. I almost wish they would give more face time to the STi...almost.
The best writeup I saw about the STi was when they Kryloned it flat black...if my Mitsu paint pisses me off enough I could see myself going to this level with my EVO.
I would have to say SCC has been my favorite mag sense I can remember. Although I wish some were thicker, had more content, although what they have is great. Quality over Quantity.

Saying that magazines suck is so internet cliché. 90% of you guys saying it sucks are the same guys that has the guilty pleasure of reading infront of the magazine rack in a grocery store for 30min.
+1

I think SCC is the best import mag out there and if I did get back into the sport compact scene (which I hope to with the Evo X), I will be getting SCC first thing.
How can some of you guys like Super Street, it's written by 16 year olds, for 16 year olds.. awful..
Modified, D Sport, Turbo, and SCC at least provide a complete list of mods, and dyno charts(most of the time) for all their feature cars..
If I wanted to read facinating tech articles about how to install an intake on a B16A I'd read Super Street.. Import Tuner is almost as bad, not quite, but very close.

Do you work for super street? Did I say I cared about seeing mustangs in import mags? I get Road & Track which I believe to be one of the best car mags out there. I don't get the other mags because I don't have an import anymore. I had super street for at least 3 years and watched every issue get worse and worse. The writers talk more about each other than they do the cars and the magazine shows more pics of skanky girls than cars.

Most of the Primedia mags are rags, but I read them all anyway! Primedia also owns allmost all the offroad mags too, they suck even worse than the Spocom mags. I prefer DSport and TPR but the rest sure are amusing.
IMO a car magazine's quality isn't simply based on how frequently there is a feature or mention of an Evo, it's the quality of information about ANYTHING in there. I'd rather read 5 good articles about turbo mustangs or something else totally unrelated to Evos than than a frustratingly poor article about Evos.
The average waste of space/time/words in a Stupid Street or Import Loser "article" makes SCC seem great IMO.
Grassroots Motorsports FTW! Also High Performance Imports, an Australian mag that rocks! If you can find it in your area, I think you'll enjoy it. They go to Japan to cover REAL race cars from top tuners there, with very specific specs and great photos, and the articles are actually intelligent. Everything from Top Secret and Do Luck shop cars to the most unique enthusiast level drift cars.

Grassroots is getting better. I've found some of the technical info inaccurate though.
Racecar Engineering is the best with regards to technical stuff. But damn it's expensive!
