TRE reccommends on their site to set it to engage around 3" off the floor, and to check, put all 4 wheels off the ground(no load)and let the pedal up till the wheels start turning.

1.5-2.0 inches from the bottom of the floor for me. That's with a Centerforce Clutch, non-adjusted from stock.

Carbonetics is on the floor. Took quite a bit of getting used to, but now im pretty impressed, I think im going to raise it about half an inch, and that will be perfect for rowing through the gears.

you guys do adjust the engagement point on the pedal when installing a new clutch, don't you? if not, you're supposed to.

Go out and drive any VW, they are the same way. I test drove a jetta once for a friend, and your knee is practically in your face once the clutch engages.

setting the engagement point too low can result in synchro damage and premature clutch wear.

I'm interested in adjusting this a little bit. How does 1 inch from the floor sound? Is there a definite treshhold at which you're starting to risk it? I'd just like to lower the engagement point a fair bit, nothing extreme, but low enough to be comfortable.

like i stated earlier, TRE(evo tranny experts)reccommends 3" from the floor. i take their word for it since they know more about trannies than me, but everyone's welcome to do to their car as they please.

How long is the full range of the clutch? Does 3" place it closer to the top or to the bottom?

Mine engages about halfway through travel, its stock. It never really bothered me because I drove a pickup truck previously and it too had a relatively high engagement point such that it drove other manual drivers crazy as well.
