where does your clutch engage?

mine is at the very top of the pedal travel. I have to let the pedal out more than halfway before even the slightest dip in RPM.

I would say the top 1.5 inches or so of clutch pedal travel actually engage and disengage, and all the rest is wasted movement.

is that normal?

ps the clutch does not slip in 5th gear pulls, so it seems it is holding. just strange how it engages so high...

Yea its fairly normal but it drives me nuts. I'd like a lower engagement but don't enjoy getting locked out of every gear. Probably has something to do with my ACT but it varies clutch to clutch.

My clutch does not engage untill I let go more than half way as well.

*Clutch pedal can be adjusted (from under the steering colum) so that you can have it engaged where you would like to have.

be careful when your adjusting the pedal height for engagement/disengagement height cause you can preload the clutch and cause premature wear...

the pedal height your experiencing is normal by the way

it's definitely a unique engagement point

coming from an STi which engages about an inch off the floor it took a little to get used to

but I have to say I like it much better than my STi

my stock clutch engaged probably about 1/2 way.. the engagement point started moving toward the top.. when that happened it was pretty much new clutch time soon after.

Mine Also Grabs At the top of the pedal, but depending on the temperture and weather the position of where it engages changes slightly, also when the car is driven for a while the clutch grabs better which is normal. Mine is a little burnt though, the factory put this rubber bushing at the top which was stoping it from going all the way up and I drove it on the highway and noticed it slipping. When I smelt burning clutch and was only doing 60mph in 6th at 4k rpm I knew there was definitely something wrong. I looked under and found this bushing sort of like stuck to the pedal bar. I just flicked it off and the Clutch worked fine from then on.
