how to make a free flowing quite 3" exhaust lots of pics!!!!
i dont get why people always try to go half-*** on their cars......you cant have quiet and power, there is no such thing. i understand that he just wanted to have a quiet exhaust and not make any power, but my question then is, why by an evo to have a quieter, slower evo?
i have a similar set up actually. the magnaflow 3" cat-back. its definitely quiet. and i didnt really want quiet, lol, but whatever i definitely saw and felt more ponies. i do want to switch, so im not fully backing the magnaflow. if your looking for quiet exahust and a solid power gain then yeah its okay, but other systems can do a lot better.

2) if absolute power is what you're looking for, why did you buy an Evo in the first place. the Evo is by no mean the fastest car on the market. an Evo is a compromise between speed, economy, and practicality.
3) some people don't mind compromising a couple hp for drivability and this exhaust will gain hp over stock while not increasing noise level by much.
4) are you saying you don't go half-*** on your car? do you drive around on race gas, on R-compound tires with ceramic brake pads?

Its basically a 3" straight back pipe, there is no loss of power unless there is a restriction. as was mentioned mandrel bends are always better for flow but I can't see that welds here on this minor bend on a 3" pipe are gonna make a difference. the welds could be prettier I guess but I don't see how this is a compromise in power.
Man, for being such a evo guru, you should know it doesnt matter the brand of an exhaust as far as hp figures. That the main idea would be as straight and least restrictive as possible. wow, im suprised that you dont know from all your know it all posts all of this forum. I think that your more woried about spelling and grammer, then evo stuff.
Good concept, would have loved if he could've backed it up on the dyno...loud is not always good. I Doubt, and i'm not a rocket scientist, doubt that this is as effective as one preaches.
Many muffler shops hype up their work, and try to throw their accomplishments at you so you think "wow, 8sec cars, they must know their isht" ...who knows what they did on those 8sec cars, that's another story.
I'm sure it's quiet and will make more power than the stock unit but to compare to other less restricted exhausts is, interesting. If sound is reduced to silence, i can bet you lunch air flow is to.
On a less skeptical note. Welds are nice, exhaust(muffler) looks good

that exhaust looks like butthole. I'd be embarrassed to put that on my car.
I bought my 2 week used Helix catback for 350 shipped - better construction, most likely lighter, and most likely makes more power.
I win, you lose.
