how to make a free flowing quite 3" exhaust lots of pics!!!!
The price is justified by the use of alumunized piping. Stainless costs more and polished stainless typically costs more. Although being in cali you don't have to worry about rust so the type of exhaust you had made looks ok. The only TIG weld I can see is on the tip, the rest look like MIG welds. For this shop doing NHRA drag cars and the whole bit they can't weld all that well. I am surprised at this. If this was a true DIY, where you did the welds, the cuts, etc you would have props for this.
Also that RRE resonator you used is junk, I used one before and the inside is only spot welded so it fell apart after about a month. I had to weld brackets to make it work. There is a reason it is cheap. I talked to RRE about it and they admitted they are not that great. A budget solution. The proper resonator is like the one used in your tespipe, although I am unsure why you have one there too as the RRE resonator should do the job. Also you would be better off with no gasket although you have to be careful with that because if the flange was not welded on correctly then you will never get it to seal right.
Also the next argument on here where a 3" pipe is a 3" pipe this is true to a certain extent, although a 3" bend is different from another 3" bend. I see most custom exhausts like this use a pipe cut approach, these bends are more abrupt and will lose flow. Will you feel the difference? Hard to say although this is why someone pays for a pricey exhaust. You install it, and forget about it.

I'm willing to bet this exhaust is quiet. And quite heavy as well. I guess if you're just daily driving then noise is probably a great concern than weight. But weight is important to me as well as sound.
I bought my full stainless full 3in (modified flange) Thermal exhaust for 50 bucks and trade for a stock exhaust. That's cheap.
