Improving the oil filter

Figured I'd give this a shot. Magnetic oil filters are expensive and since I get NIB magnets for free, why not? I'm curious to see what it'll look like after I cut it open next oil change. Bleh...

Cool idea, those puppies are strong magnets. I bought a couple just for fun while I was in college. Keep us posted.

I would stick that on the end of your drain bolt on the tranny and tcase. The oil filter will catch any particals in the oil so a magnet is not going to help, infact with my luck it would cause a clog in the thing and blow the motor.

just use a good oil filter, and you would probably be better off with a magnetic drain plug. Mine catches a couple little things here and there whenever I take it out during oil changes.

Since we are on the topic, where can one get those magnetic oil drain plugs for the tranny and T-case?
