Even though there has been talk about better protection from this oil, I'm still a little hesitant due to the 0w-50 rating....I don't even understand how an oil can have a viscosity rating of 0
ya...its **** = 0w

Is there any information that carries the same format as Amsoil and Redline? So that at least an equal comparison can be made?

AMSOIL 100% Synthetic 10W-30 Motor Oil (ATM) [revised as of 7/06] (Redline 10W-30 Full Synthetic)

Kinematic Viscosity @ 100°C, cSt (ASTM D-445)
10.7 (Redline is 10.7)

Kinematic Viscosity @ 40°C, cSt (ASTM D-445)
59.8 (Redline is 70)

Viscosity Index (ASTM D-2270)
171 (Redline is 142)

CCS Viscosity @ -25°C, cP (ASTM D-5293)
4020 (Redline is 4.7){Here I'd assume a different rating scale, but maybe 4.2 for Amsoil here}

Pour Point °C (°F) (ASTM D-97)
-50 (-58) (Redline -45 (-47))

Flash Point °C (°F) (ASTM D-92)
228 (442)(Redline 248(478))

Four Ball Wear Test
(ASTM D-4172B @ 40 kgf, 75°C, 1200 rpm, 1 hour), Scar, mm
0.35 (Redline no info)

Noack Volatility, % weight loss (g/100g) (ASTM D-5800) 5.4 (Redline is 6)

High Temperature/High Shear Viscosity
(ASTM D-4683 @ 150°C, 1.0 X 106 s.-1), cP
3.2 (Redline is 3.8 ASTM D-4741)

Total Base Number
12.2 (Redline no info)
